Thanks for asking!
Do you have an actual build thread for your rig?
Did you do the work or do you have a shop that you like to use?

Great rig!

I like your low center of gravity, something I have in mind doing too. Very nice Jeep!

Hey Sean. No...I never really started a build thread but in hindsight wish I had. I have lots of pictures of what I did but have not really put them all together in any kind of sequence. The whole project started as a frustration trying to get through a couple of specific obstacles...I thought I would just lengthen the rear.

I've always done all my own work on the jeep in my own garage, but my friend has a shop and I knew my welding skills were not up to the task. I did the cutting, grinding, etc...and together we did the mock up, measuring, building, etc...Terry and Jason at Alpine Offroad get a big and thanks.

Announcement

today there were 30 accounts made and they all voted for one in the top ten. these 30 accounts came from the same IP address but were untraceable to any of the members selected for the Top 10. because of this, and an extensive paper trail we have come to the conclusion that the Top 10 entrant is not at fault and is in the clear. the 30 votes however, have been removed and the 30 accounts permanently banned and deleted from the forum.

all of this was the result of entrants advertising their rigs for TJ of The Month on forums other than Jeepforum. this is unacceptable! however, since the rules were only clearly stated in the submission thread next months rules will be clearly stated in every thread pertaining to TJoTM to make sure everyone sees it.

Good luck to the entrants, there are 2 1/2 days left!

That sucks spyder, but it just made my choice a lot easier. Gotta give my vote up to fourbycor. I don't even like yellow Jeeps, but I like his setup! Very nicely done.

i feel terrible about it, but rules are rules and in this kind of thing, they must be followed or it isnt a level playing field.

I think it was a good decision. Fair is fair!

Wow... I really don't know what to say. All i did was encourage my fellow Jeepers on my local Forum to come and vote for me if they had an account. I never once asked for folks to go and create an account and vote! In fact, in my email I had sent YOU before you contacted me, i asked for the IP's as i was just as shocked and pissed..!

I never intended to try and win this. I knew that my TJ was in a different class as compared to the very well built up TJ's in this group with their upgraded axles, and LA setups... Not only that but in one of my posts on my local forum, i stipulated that i had no chance of catching #1 not only because of votes but because... His jeep was better built than mine!

No where does it state in the rules that i was advised to abide by for the month of October, to not post cross threads in other forums. It does mention no pictures, but that is not what i did....

You first advised me that i was under investigation. Then you advised me that advertising elsewhere was against the rules ( I have included the rules below and do not see this stipulation anywhere) but that you were going to remove the 30 bids (Which is what i was hoping for as i did not want all these bids either... Anyone with a bit of time could have figure out something was amiss. I mean. Hell i did and i sent you the email!!! .. Then you sent a final email that you looked into it further and now i will be disqualified?

To QUOTE your rules:
----------------------
Here are the rules of the game, if you cannot follow them to the exact dot - you will be automatically disqualified for the month.

RULES:

*updated*
• LJ Unlimiteds will be allowed every month regardless
• All pictures submitted must be hosted on your own with working links or you will be disqualified. (URL's only please, [IMG] tags not required)
• ALL PICTURES must be 800x600 or larger or widescreen equivalent (we will come for you when the year is winding down for a high resolution picture for the calendar) Please submit high quality pictures, your chance at winning could possibly be lessened by a poor quality picture.
• You are allowed to submit a maximum of 3 pictures for entries, if submitted more than 3, we will pick the best ones.
• ANY pictures posted in this thread will not qualify for entry, all entries must be sent to the provided Email address
• There are NO classes, if you didnt win because you got beat out by someone on 1 tons and 42" tires. im sorry, but they wont be able to enter next month so try again.
• Winners cannot enter again till the following year
• Those who did not win can resubmit as many times as they want in the following months
• (OPTIONAL) along with your 3 pictures you can send in a list of specifications and a story on how it came to be, so if you got something sweet let us know what it is!
• At the end of the year all jeeps that won the previous months will be automatically entered for TJ of The Year. those 12 entries will be voted on for 10 days concluding on new years eve with the new winner. (decembers contest will be shortened slightly to allow TJoTY) Those final 12 will be put in a Calander for all members to purchase. the top 3 TJ of The Year winners will be awarded Premium 1 year memberships on JF
• Slander will not be tolerated under any condition or reason. those caught bad mouthing others in the contest will be disqualified
• Posting additional pictures to public forums will not be tolerated. you are allotted 3 pictures for the contest - keep it that way.
• Company owned or sponsored rigs will not be allowed to submit. it is unfair to everyone else who operates on a budget.

Please submit your entries in THIS FORMAT, and put your JF user name as the email subject:

Name:
Username:
Mods (optional):
Story (optional):
Pictures:

With that, please send all your entries to TJofTheMonth@gmail.com

Please do not send your entry twice, if you are having a problem and dont know if your email went through, send a message to any of the following permanent judges and they will check the email account to see if its there. This thread will be locked on October 18th 2009, a new thread with the top 10 jeeps submitted will be posted to vote on on October 20th. Member voting will be concluded on October 30th at 12PM Eastern Standard Time and the winner of September posted.

Some Behind the scenes work has been taken care of and revised to help benefit the entrants of the contest. I have downsized the number of judges to help myself out when the middle of the month comes, plus i found having so many judges it was becoming redundant. from now on there will be 7 judges not including myself (see below for details) Also, emphasis for the top ten will be placed on new entrants. this will allow a more diverse selection of top 10 Jeeps, without harming the ideals that were set in the beginning. If any judges (past and present) have qualms with the list please PM me and we can sort things out.

as far as my position goes in this contest, from now on i'll continue my role as the administrator of the contest to organize and distribute the judges votes accordingly.

Congratulations to the months of July, August and September winners Idaho-Jeep, -Sean-, and Gunkel. So remember, PLEASE follow all rules of the contest, have fun and let the games begin!

-Will

For Shiats and Giggles, i submitted my OD TJ on JeepForum for this TJ of the Month run they started in the summer. Well, wouldn't you know it, i was nominated for this month

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/oc...5/#post8141013

FYI, it's the OD TJ listed under Gecko5

So, if you happen to be a member on this board and drift over there, give me some votes you bunch of non-patriotic ****ers

I don't even know what the end result is, however thought it was kind of neat. There's some pretty nice built jeeps in the pool.

Oh well.

Later,
----------------------------

I'll close this out by saying a few things if i may.

I was honored to be nominated for this month. So much so, that i wanted to let everyone know in my local club and hopefully i would get support.

I did not break any rules that were stipulated when i submitted my entry. I do not see anything "Unfair" about letting others know and hope for their support. The only reason this came about was because of some individual (That i do not know of or have any involvement of ~~~ But would really appreciate it if you could forward the IP to me if it is indeed the same individual for all 30 accounts).

Some folks will say fair is fair... I would be hard pressed to say that this has not occurred elsewhere.. One only needs to do a bit of data-mining to see if there are link backs to this site or whether or not the locations of supporting bidders match the nominees location.. But that's not the point.

I thank all those that did vote for me. I was very happy to see that i had the support i did.

Good Luck to those in the race. You all have great jeeps.

Cheers.

You want to disqualify me. So be it.

you were not disqualified over the 30 votes and accounts, you are not connected to that. you were disqualified by advertising for votes which falls under posting pictures to draw votes. it is one thing to remind other JFers on Jeepforum that there is a contest and encouraging them to vote, but advertising yourself on a public forum is different. even though you did not ask for people to make accounts, there are unintended consequences where ultimately the 30 accounts came from. this is why such things are not allowed.

Like i said, i feel terrible about it because when i created the rules i had hoped that when it came down to enforcing them it would be against some ******* - not someone who is proud of what happened. but rules are rules and to keep a fair and level playing field among others, they have to be enforced. August TJoTM had something similar happen.

Please PM Jones for the IP addresses, he is the one with all the information.

if you have any more qualms rants or questions please PM me. and if you still feel wronged by all means PM Jerry B or any of the other moderators and have them look into this.

not to stir up an argument but when did the rule about advertising on other forums get put into place?

in august after the event between Tedder and Sean

since this event has some discrepancies and peoples opinions are being voiced, its obvious my judgement call is in question. so i'll leave this up to the forum to decide its outcome. because of this his name has been tarnished in the contest and he more than likely does not have enough time to regain his popularity with reinstated votes. so please people, post up your opinions here because im at a dead end with the being fair routine

Disclaimer, I personally know Tim and I back him up that he wouldn't have subverted the rule if he had known that was what that rule stated. He was amazed and honoured to be nominated and was excited for those in our group who are also on JeepForum to vote.
Obviously, I respect and understand your decision as well as the rule but I could see how there is confusion in that rule. Reading the rule, I would have assumed it meant not using more pictures elsewhere to sway votes. I would recommend for next month you include a clearer statement. (and this is why we have so many damn lawyers)
