nv3550 synchronizer bad, replacement questions

I ran my jeep wheeling after slave cylinder failed. It destroyed the blocking ring on 2nd gear synchronizer. How hard is it to change just that and what specialty tools would it take?

I would help you, but I'm not sure quite what to tell you. Your profile says ax-15, but you're asking about the 3550? I can tell you that it's not hard to fix the ax-15s, open them up, and go to town. Get a rebuild kit and take your time.

Never opened up an NV3550, but I imagine it can't be terribly different, IIRC more special tools are required.

Little late reply but I fixed signature. Had ax15 but went to 3550 now.

Easy to go back to the AX 15, did that in my 04 Rubicon. Eventually will rebuild the NV3550, but awaiting parts, and time to do this. Since I have 3 AX 15 I just rebuilt, it may be a while before I need the 3550, if ever.
