NV3550 Shifter - Where to find one?

Hey guys, I'm STILL looking and was wondering if anyone had ideas on where to find a factory shifter (used) for an NV3550? Any jeep-part sites?

I've tried craigslist, ebay, car-parts.com, wanted forums/for sale forums (on several sites), local junk yards, junk yards miles away, etc and I'm still coming up with nothing.

I'm doing an ax-15 to nv3550 swap in my 1999 TJ. I've got the tranny, but it didnt come with the shifter and obviously the ax-15 doesnt match. Any ideas of where to look now? My jeep has been down since august and this is the only thing holding me back.

Also, I do realize that I could get a B&M, but I really dont want to have to spend 200 bucks on a shifter if at all possible. Thanks.

I need the assembly from where it bolts on the tranny and up. That's just the handle. Thank you though!

They should be able to sell you what you need.

I called them last week. They don't sell the whole assembly.

For the price they're asking, I would just buy a Hurst or B&M.

What i do in these situations is the following:

I'd search for hurst/B&M in the search function. That will give you the threads about people who have upgraded. Then id go ahead and PM a few of them and ask if they still need their oe shifter.

I have found plenty of hard to find stuff this way.

I'm putting a b&m on sometime in the next month. If it works out well, I'll sell you mine for cheap. It's pretty much brand new with no fade marks.

You will need the little rotation cup from your old shifter( the end of the shifter that goes into the shift fork) to put on to the B&M shifter. You have to pop it off the old shifter and use it on the B&M shifter. So you will still need to find that part.

When I put a NV3550 into my YJ i was forced to get a B&M. I was happy I did and it works great and I now have it in my TJ.

I just can't see putting that much into a shifter myself. I've heard they are great though.

Sorry to jump in here, but it sounds like you guys can help me out with the information I'm looking for as well.. After going through my third AX15 in my 99TJ I have finally decided to upgrade to the NV3550. Does this tranny directly bolt onto the stock bellhousing and the NP231 transfer case? I've heard there is some kind of space needed for the bellhousing because the input shaft is longer.... Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanx.
