NV3550 shifter pivot cup bushing

Hello all,

Not sure if this has been discussed before but I thought Id share with those, who are looking for the shifter cup bushing, where it can be found (no affiliation)

From the time I bought my jeep, the shift lever had an unusual amount of play in it. There was so much slop that it was way too easy to put it in the wrong gear. Needless to say, that was getting old really fast. Upon initial disassembly, I was rather shocked with what was found under the shift tower. It appears as though the previous owner had some former knowledge of the sloppy shifter and could not find a replacement bushing, so instead, used about an inch of cpvc pipe and installed that in its place .

For me, this was a totally unacceptable solution... After a little research, I bought one from ebay supposedly specific to the NV1500, NV3500 and NV3550 for like $17 plus 3 bucks shipping, which truth be told, is a lot for what you get but (to me) worth every cent for not accidentally catching the wrong gear. Anyways, the little plastic bushing installed perfectly and is a HUGE improvement in shift quality. I don't know how long these are designed to last as compared with OEM which seems not to be available? but I suppose time will tell.

I know I am resurrecting an old post, but I had the same problem and found another slightly cheaper source for this bushing that I wanted to share.

Mine shipped for $13 same day I ordered it.
