Nice jeep build. I would suggest not looking into a wheelbase stretch (as you already are) if you are thinking about 39.5s. With the stock wheelbase, even with the long arm, your going to be very upset trying hillclimbs with 40s. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comp. I have already put it on the table. I have a couple of people that I am trying to work out deals with on my axles. Comp cut, maybe or just extended rear wheel well? Then take the front out slightly. Coil overs, or maybe air shocks. I hear the air shocks are good for crawling, but high maintenance. I would like to start in a couple weeks and try to finish around the first of March. If a couple of things fall into place, it will happen. If not, then maybe on down the road.

I have seen stretch systems that work really well with coils, check out Tweba99's build on a 60/14b with coils. Done very well at home and worked great for him. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/1-ton-tj-buildup-396620/ Good luck with the build. |

I was wondering about those. Know anyone running them. If I go that route I guess I could rob a couple of liquor stores. Not bad $$$ compared to some coil overs. What are 44x19.5x15, Boggers with about 80 to 90% tread on them worth, 4 of them.
![]() I have someone wanting to add these in our trade. |

Went Saturday to Ringold Chrysler Jeep, jeep show and rti competition. It is a 2 day event and the second day is a trail ride. This is a pic of some of the jeeps in the show.
![]() ![]() ![]() I won 1st place in show, and tied for 1st in rti competition. In all about 175.00 in gift certificates from Ringold Off Road. There was a guy there talking to one of his buddys and a friend of mine too. I was standing there with them and he said, that Sammy guy will probably win that show, and that he could probably win too, if he threw as much money at his rig, as I did. Not knowing who I was, he also replied, He's got more money than I got, to spend on a jeep. I walked away before I went totally stupid on him. The guy was about 55 or so and had even been on a couple of trail rides with us. Some people just do not understand, sure it takes money, but am not wealthy, I am just in a good financial position. I do not have a car payment so what some may spend on that, I can spend on my jeep if I wish. I also try to fab or build or trade for lots of stuff. I also work on jeeps for other people and have sprayers and pressure washers I rent out. So I only use the extra, for the extras. Stupid no count junky bewitched. Don't hate the player, just hate the game. I looked for the guy when they announced the winner, I couldnt find him, he had already left. Lucky for me, I guess... |

![]() Here is how it sits as of today, hp30 and Ford 8.8, gone. Also 36x13.50 Iroks, gone. Wheels, gone. Time for 1 tons. I will be posting progress. I am going to pu axles tomorrow. Pics will follow. The plan is to put one ton axles in, with rear stretch. Relocate fuel tank with either a fuel cell or build a box for the tank. Dont know how I want to do that yet. Three link in front with trac bar, coil springs. Rear????triangulated 4 link, or maybe dual triangulated 4 link. Tires 39.5 iroks, or 42in??? I will use the money I got from the sale of my other stuff for the start, and collect what I need as I go. Hope to be done by Feb or March of 2010...... |

Like I had said before, I was so on the fence about this, but I finally decided to go ahead and start the journey. There are a few things I am after, 1. function 2. ITs GOT TO LOOK GOOD.
