Yeah i guess you could do a strength test on the 8.8, but after you throw the money into it for the beefier parts your gonna be out alot more money if something does break. If you sold it along with your front end and wheels, you could go 8 lug, with one ton disk brakes all around, instead of trying to get your D60 to 5 on 4.5 or the 8.8 to 8 on 6.5. Full width with H2 backspacing wheels looks just about right imo.

Ya, That make a lot of cents. The tried and true. And you are correct in saying that I could sale mine, to get the $$$, for the few necessary things that I would need to make it work. This is just like me, I will kick this around until I can justify it with in myself, then BAM! The next thing I know I will be like chop, cut, rebuild. But also, if I cant make it look good, I won't do it.

If you cant make the ton's look good under your jeep, you should be beaten. You dont seem to cobble stuff up, so the new axles shouldnt be a problem.

I would like to go 60's in mine, talking the wife into it would be hard, and i havent started wheeling hard enough to need 60's. Maybe when i get out of school i will.

Thats the problem. Not the wife, I haven't really wheeled hard enough for the 60s either. I just don't want to be the guy that holds up the show. When we were at the Tellico, Dixie Run, I had the bolt come out of the rear carrier cap. I was in a group ride that consist of about 6 jeeps equal to or set up better than mine and about 5 rigs that were on tons, with anywhere from 38s to 40s. My rig broke on the rock ledge about 3/4 up Schoolbus. I guess with everyone looking at my jeep before we hit the trail, and telling me how well it looked, and even complimenting on the set up. Well it was very embarrassing to be the one that stopped the entire convoy and to be the one that had to ask on the cb, if they would all move over to the side of the trail and let me back down. My wife hid in the floorboard. She was like: All the time and money you spend on this thing, and we are broke down not 40 minutes into the ride? The people tword the back, not hearing the ring gear clacking as it whizzed by the pinion gear, probably thought that I just couldn't make it and had to turn around. Here is where I was at when it broke.

Ok, I have been fishing, and found these. Not that I really even need to, but I feel my self gravitating tword doing something like one of these rigs. I didn't research to whom they belonged to, I just know they are good looking rigs, with a lot of hard work put into them by someone.

Thanks,
I really like standing inside there and watching people pull up and look at the jeep. I think it's just the red, its eye catching.

How about some more pictures of the smittybilt flares? I'm looking into a front set, already getting a rear set of them, but wondering how the front set are for you? I've heard that they don't replace the full inner fender, and I'm not sure if I'd want that since there as some that offer full replacement like TNT's that give more clearance on the inner fender...

You can see here, the red up in the fender well, that is the factory part still left. The bottom left, where the 4 bolts go, that is part of the Smittybilt's.
Also all of the black in the fender well is factory. The Smittybilt is not a full replacement fender. However they do not have the price tag that a full replacement fender does. Installation was easy and after sanding the top sides of them, to get the black texture off of them, I think they painted up pretty well for a rattle can job.

Sorry, I don't really have anymore pics at this time.

Wow that rattle can job is nice! I'm thinking about getting a paint job and doing it myself in the garage and making myself a make-shift paint booth and doing the same you did to my future tube fenders (painting them red except for the tips and painting the tips black)...unless you can give me a great price on a full paint job?
Did the rear flare just bolt up? I'm not to crazy about a full corner, but if it takes a full corner for the flare then that's what I'd have to do
