Normal idle rpm for 01 TJ 4.0 6cyl??

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if 600-700 rpm is normal idle for my TJ? Seems to want to cut out once in a while.
TIA
Rick

That's a bit low, perhaps the TPS (throttle position sensor) is going south. Erratic idle is often a result of a bad TPS.

Thanks Jerry, you da man. My TJ died yesterday while driving. Had it towed home and discovered no fuel at the rail. Found a broken wire to the fuel pump and repaired it. Starts and runs okay but seems to idle low. I'll check that.

my Tj idles around there as well but runs fine. cruising it runs about 1500 which seems rather low, but again, it runs fine. go figure.
