Noobie temp question

Hello, this is my first post but I have been reading for the past couple of weeks. I bought my first Jeep awhile back......it is an 03 TJ Sport 5speed with 6x,xxx miles on it now. Anyhow, I have noticed that my temp guage moves slightly (probably 205-215) depdending on whether I am idling in traffic, driving on the interstate, or cruising around town. I know this is in the correct temp range, but is it normal for it to move slightly in these different scenarios? It has been extremely hot and humid here in TN since I bought the Jeep. I did leave it idling for about 10 mins with the A/C on (so the dog would not die!) and when I got in the temp had climbed to about 220, but immediately cooled down when I drove off. Also, if I shut it off and leave it for about 10 mins when I start back up the temp guage will go to about 220 or so then immediately come back down as soon as the coolant flows through. Thanks in advance for the responses, I am just a bit paranoid since it is new to me and out of warranty.
Matt

I was concerned when I first bought mine and yes, it is perfectly normal. Enjoy the jeep!

Thanks! I guess I should stop worrying and start adding the good stuff.

that's exactly, but beware...Jeeps are addicting! I bought my first one a few months ago and now I am looking about buying another.
