Newbie W/ Questions

HELLO....
BOB FROM INDIANA HERE.
I INHERITED A 97 TJ SOFT TOP (ARMY GREEN) W/ ONLY 45,000 MILES. MANUAL 5-SPEED 2.5 4CYLINDER BASIC PACKAGE NO EXTRAS AT ALL....MY ONLY UPGRADE IS A NEW SET OF 31s AND SOME BLACK MOAB AMER.RACING WHEELS.

THE TIRES AND WHEELS REALLY CHANGED THE LOOK OF THE LITTLE JEEP AND HAS GIVEN ME A LOT MORE TESTOSTERONE WHEN I AM IN IT...LOL

LOOKING FOR SOME IDEAS TO GO WITH THE SET-UP I HAVE.

1. I AM A SMOKER AND I HAVE LOOKED INTO A SLIDER WINDOW, BUT EVERYONE I TALK TO GIVES ME A THUMBS DOWN. 4WD WEBSITE HAS A DEVICE TO KEEP THE WINDOW FROM FLAPPING (FORGOT THE NAME) ...ANY COMMENTS? ADVICE?

2. I AM ALSO GOING TO PURCHASE A SPEAKER BAR (6 SPEAKERS) AND DOME LIGHT...GOOD IDEA?

3. NOT EQUIPPED WITH A TOW PACKAGE SO IT WILL PROBABLY END UP ALL SHOW NO GO AS FAR AS OFF-ROADING GOES.

4. LOOKING AT SOME INEXPENSIVE WAYS TO MAKE HER A LITTLE MORE UNIQUE. BUMPERS, LIGHTS, SMALL LIFT, ETC.... ANY IDEAS WOULD BE GREAT.

SORRY FOR ALL OF THE QUESTIONS, BUT I AM AFRAID I AM GETTING THE BUG...

THANKS

1st thing, no caps for you.

A BB is a cheap way to gain lift.

Smittybilt bumpers are cheap, but they are paper thin.

Speaker bar is a fine idea, just don't expect a good stereo.

Just take the whole window out to smoke.

Why does the tow package matter for offroad?

ok...ok...ok... no more caps....lol.... I write in all caps so i guess it is a bad habit online.

any recommendations on a BB? Speaker bar from 4WD mag ok?

I live in indiana with some cold winters so I need the window in for comfort.

i was told at 4x4 parks (Badlands in Attica , In)and camp jeep you need a tow package for bad situations.

The tow package is just a hitch. As long as you have front and rear tow hooks, you'll be ok.

Slider windows are ok. For maximum comfort, shell out the $$$ for full steel doors.

Tow hooks are hooks on the Jeep to hook a recovery strap on. Your Jeep probably has them.

I just threw those out there. They are cheap and don't look like the stock bumpers.

Yes, but the stereo still isn't going to be great.

I have sliders. They are ok, but a small window opening. Still, I love being able to strip down to the half doors.
