Has everyone seen this cage from psc? supposed to be coming out this month some time. Looks like a pretty cool bolt in solution.

I don't think the price will be too bad, the PSC weld-in trail cage is a heck of a deal if you can weld it in. The only comparable cage to the Helldorado is the RockHard bolt-in setup, so if the price is kept close to thiers it should be a decent alternative.

I can't wait

I talked to them last week about it. They aren't releasing any more information until the 16th I was told. (I'll bet they were just trying to get me off of the phone.) I asked about pre ordering, but they aren't open for that yet...

Yeah for roughley $650 the weld in cage is a steal which is why I plan on doing one in this spring.

I'm making a trip the end of March, first week of April to the San Rafael area, down through Buckhorn draw, out Black Dragon and over to Moab, then on down to Mesa AZ, taking as many backroads and off-highway routes as possible. I called PSC to see about getting one of the Helldorado bolt-in units ready for my trip, they said not a chance. Not built yet, not in inventory nor is it in their system. The guy I spoke with was a little disappointed, and said he doubted it would be ready for sale by EJS- the week after I'm there, that possibly later in April. From what I heard on pricing, and unless they change things, it should be cheaper than the RockHard unit.

I was a little bummed out about not having the cage ready for my trip. So much so in fact that I had to go spend that money on a new Jeeperman rear/swingout and jerry can holder instead!

Best of Luck,

Mike

I really want a little more protection but can't decide between the bolt ins and weld ins... What is the benefit to welding? Stronger I take it?

My worry about the weld-in kits... is what happens if/when you need to remove your dash? Say the evaporator needs replaced... from the looks of the PSC weld-in cages you could never remove the dash for repairs.

Any thoughts?

I had been looking at a weld in cage for some time and ended up going with the Rock Hard bolt-in for this very reason. While the weld-in is a little more seamless, it makes sense to still have some sort of access, especially on a DD.
