It is just the JK housing with the stock TJ light put in the back. Just cut the hole and create the notches as Jerry showed.

That actually looks great. So when can we see a full replacement fender? I think that would save just a little bit more weight, but it would also save us some money ironically. You could sell the stock fenders for up to $400, so if they are like full replacements for $300 or $400 I think they would sell like hotcakes to 3 month survivors of a beached shipwreck.

I like the idea of the highlined ones too. How much clearance do the regular ones actually gain? I would expect an extra 2" out of a highlined set, and they wouldn't have the hunched shoulder appearance.

BTW, somebody needs to give a little T.L.C. to their hood latched

What, and look like a webwheeler who actually worries about that kind of stuff?

Thanks Jerry. I'm not really worried about the look, but I have dry rot on my body mounts, and I have also had my hood get unlatched. That was scary. I wouldn't want the latch to break and destroy a windshield. My body mounts were actually so bad that when my body shop was fixing my rear crossmember, they would have had to replace them were it not for the frame straightener fixing the crossmember. That would have had to come out of my pocket since it wasn't caused by the accident.

I may be a web wheeler, but at least I do use my Jeep. I just wish I could use it more. I got all excited that my heat broke (vacuume line was disconnected form the manifold) because it was a great excuse to crawl around my favorite toy.

Jerry,

Did you have to remove your winch to drill the holes for the JK turn signals? I have the same winch on my Jeep, so I am curious.

On a side note. I really like the fenders. I am just worried about getting a ticket. There not foolin around anymore up here especially on the Rubicon trail. Last year at Sierra Trek the local PD was ligned up ticketing every illeagal rig comming off the trail.

Is there a write up for rear flush tail light LED swap/ install? I am interested because I'm not really diggin the rear stock light housing that is continually getting snagged on branches and sticks.

- Oh and by the way those fenders look 8 x 10^gazilionth times better than the ones you had on there.

q's that arise...

Street legal?
and rear fender set up?

Question... could less of the stock fender be cut off (like just following the ABS fender outline including the vertical lip) so that it would add more metal area for the stock flares to attached to and add rigidity?

I know the main reason for the ABS is for it's flexibility but for us that need the extra tire coverage of the flares, this may make some sense.

Sure, I don't see why not. That would remove their ability to flex but if you don't need the flex & only want them for their classic CJ looks, that would work fine.

I think the addition of the stock flare completely kills the look... just like I hate the look of tube fenders with the double arc. TNT did tube fenders right IMO.
These guys indicate on their web site that they are working on a custom flare. I'd wait for that. Ideally, they'd make a wider version of this 'CJ' fender to eliminate an add-on flare... similar to what TNT did.

x2 100% The double curve tube fender is ugly. If you need coverage for now you COULD use pins to hold it on and then pull those off when on the trail. It would still look ugly, but not for long.

x3 I have to agree, the more I look at it the less I like it with the stock flares. I'll see what they come up with.

I still think they look awesome on their own, just won't work for me.
