New Jeep Owner

I purchased a 2004 TJ last week. I sent a email to Jeep to get a build sheet and here's what I got back from. I can see now that the previous owners did a few things like getting full hard doors and slightly larger tires but a few things I've highlighted and don't know what they mean. thanks

The Anti-Spin differential is just an apparatus in the rearend to make sure both tires spin when losing traction. Also known as Posi-Traction, it is helpful when wheeling as power it distributed between both rear tires instead of just one.

Not sure of the others, but nice to see Chrysler included 8 gallons of gas!!

The limited slip differential uses clutch plates that quickly wear out under heavy off-road use. Jeep calls it the Trac-Lock system. People in my club call it Trash-Lock because it wears out so quickly.

Welcome to Jeep land.

Thanks for the reply's guys. I was wondering about the 8 gallons of gas thing because when filled up yesterday the light was on and it took 17.2 gallons to top it off. From what I read on hear they came with a 19 gallon tank so I got confused thinking maybe it had a 27 gallon tank and the gauge was off but I guess everything is good.

Also the guy I bought it from gave me 2 5 gallon metal Jerry cans full of gas. The cans are in awesome shape with no rust. The catch is he couldn't remember when he filled them up but it may have been over a year ago. What should I do with the gas? I'm afraid to run it in the Jeep and I live in an apartment so I don't have a lawn mower to burn it up.

Hmm, you might be able to take it to a Haz-mat facility. They have haz-mat drop offs at some oil dump stations. A local parts store might know, or you could ask the dealer where to dispose old fuel. I wouldn't burn it either.

4-wheel discs? Was this an option on non-Rubicons?
