new jeep !! going with 32s !!

I just treated myself to a new wrangler x with 4.0 and 6spd !! [ khaki color] my friends call me a big puss for buying a jeep but i just love it! I had an old 73 cj5 ran like crap but she was fun just very old. I do mostly street driving with my jeep but i just want to stand out! The cool thing about jeep tjs they aways seem to be personalized weather its a tube bumper on a stock tj or a tj with 35s. My new x is my DD so i wanted to jeep thing small like 30x9.50s on a custom rims till some new blond moved in town with a new tj 3 inch lift and 32s lol and *** ol me got 215s I look like a big 26 year old puss at the wheel. SO here it is i want to run goodyear mtr 32x11.50s on classic 2 15 x 8 rims skyjacker 2 inch spacer lift 1 inch body lift and 1 inch moter m lift ! Does this sound like a fun reliable setup ??? Thanks all !!!

Sounds good to me. I ran a 2" Procomp lift, 1" BL/MML and 32s for a while...till I wanted to go bigger. Ive got pics on my webpage.

Since you're going with a BL/MML combo, I would suggest the Currie 1" Body Lift. It does cost about $10 more then the Performance Accessories kit, but its made out of aluminum and the pucks are machined to fit over the stock bushing. Comes with Grade 8 hardware, but does not come with brackets (you won't need these anyway because of the MML).

That combo is fine.

Just make sure to get the proper BS on those wheels or else they will rub. Anything better than 5.5, like the factory ones, should be ok. Actually, I'm not even sure of the aftermarket even makes ones that are as badly BS'd as the factory ones.

You might also want to think about your gearing. If you're running 3.07's, you might want to think about sticking with 31's to keep the driveability (even though you'll still lose 5th gear). If you've got 3.73's, you should be fine.

I took my 05 TJ with 30" GSAs out in the snow yesterday - I hit some a pile of 15" snow going too slow and got 'er stuck without any recovery gear with me (a mistake I will try not to make again). I managed to rock it out of the snow bank but I realize how much I really want BETTER BIGGER TIRES. I want to go 32s, but the only question is A/Ts or M/Ts...... (I am probably leaning toward A/Ts).

JGeorge- Right there with you. I was downtown in Philly "working nights" until 6 am then went back home to play around there. Went from here (Chadds Ford area) to Paoli (up near you) and around and around until 11am or so. Some places were 18"+, easy. The front diff. became a plow in some spots.

I had chains with me but didn't need them only because I know the roads very well. (And probably because I had them with me, along with a come-along and cables...Had I left these things at home, I would have gotten stuck I'm sure!) But the GSA's are pretty much helpless in serious snow like this. Although I will say they do steer well on the interstate doing 45-55 through several inches of mush/snow. Felt totally safe at those speeds too. They never want to crabwalk into the shoulder or anything when you drift out of the tracks of the vehicles ahead of you. I want to go to 32-33's also with similar lift... I swear that's as big as I'll go...

I have 33" BFG AT's on my 87 and I really like them. I never do any serious serious offroading, jsut mudding around, some hilly trails through the woods now and then and our winter storms. They work great for that. Good on the dry road too...

This is what I've decided to do after changing my mind a hundred times (even this isn't concrete). Hopefully I'll have the lift in this spring.
- Rusty's 2" Basic Coil lift: The thought being that if I decide to go with bigger tires later, I'll still have spacer options. Also I hear the Coil lift gives about 2.5 inches instead of 1.75 with the BB. I don't have any recovery gear or a hard top to weigh it down. I also hear the Rusty hydro's are more forgiving than the stiffer REBB. Granted Skyjacker shocks (hydro's) will be comparable. The Skyjacker price ~$250+ shipping is just a hair cheaper than the ~$310 +shipping for the coil lift. Assuming it offers an additional .75 of lift, I'll forgo the BL until it's really needed.
- (5) BFG A/T 32x11.5x15 on Cragar Black soft 8's: The jeep is a DD so I want A/T's and the BFG measure 31.7 in diameter which is pretty good cosidering most 32's are closer to 31 in dia. They are pretty aggresive looking for an A/T also. I'm going with Summit for the tires and wheels. I'm looking at ~ $1300 for everything, but with taxes coming it's not that big of a hit.

All that being said, your Skyjacker option should be fine. It was one of my options until I decided to spend a little extra. Good luck and post pics.

I've ran the 2" lift with 32's for a while now. I don't mind it and it is a nice lift setup for the price until you have enough saved up for the big upgrade.

With stock fender flares:

Have a good one,

The 2" Lift + 1" BL/MML is a great combinations for 32's. Watch the backspacing on the rims, 4-4.5" is what's highly recommended. Coupled with an Anti-rock (or discos, I suppose) it makes for great trail rig. Eventually I ended up installing a belly-up skid for some added ground chearance under the chassis.

I would say that if you are planning on getting a winch go with at least a 2" HD coil spring lift up front.

This set up works so well for the wheel'n I do (check out the pictures in sig below) that I want to stick with the 32x11.50 tire size. I personally see no point in going bigger than what I have.

My Jeep is the yellow one (see sig. for setup)
