New house smell when heats is on

I had to replace a hose in the engine - and I am getting the smell of the new hose when I turn my heat on. And even sometimes when it's not on.

Any ideas what to do besides an air freshener?

Jamie

I'm really not sure how to answer this.

Was it a heater hose that you replaced?! It's April...turn the heater off and worry about it next winter?!

I guess you could put an old hose on and the new hose smell would go away....

But really...either you put up with the smell....or do like you said and air freshen it. Not sure how much more technical of a solution you are looking for.

When I put pizza in my Jeep it smells like it for a few days...I put up with it cause there is nothing I can do about it...plus it makes me want pizza again which starts a vicious cycle!

It's because he owns a 2003 YJ. All those YJ's have smelly hoses

Almost as rare as the much wanted 1996 Jeep wrangler YTJ prototype.

I resemble that remark.

Over the mountains and through the woods, across the stream and up the slickrock, down the canyon and over the rocks to nobody's house I go.

What hose did you actually replace? If you replaced a radiator hose then make sure what you are smelling isn't actually radiator fluid burning on the engine block.

Anyhow, if nothing is leaking then you are probably only smelling the solvents released from the rubber from it being heated up. The smell will go away eventually so just roll the window down and get some fresh air.

Why is there so much space down here?

OK, I fixed my profile. I know my Jeep is a TJ. Thanks for all the good laughs. And thank you element54 for the insight.

Glad you all got a big laugh at the question!
