new extended front brake lines too long?
I've got a 4.5" RE/SF kit (3.5" springs) to put on soon, and noticed the front lines I received are 22". Normally the lines included with the 4.5" kit are 20". I'm wondering whether the extra long lines coupled with the fact that I'm using the 3.5" springs will be problematic? If it'll work, I'll keep 'em - this way if I decide to go bigger later, I won't have to mess with them again. On the other hand, if it will just be too much line to keep out of the way of the tires, I'll exchange them.

Well, how fortunate you are that you posted this. I just did my 4.5" lift with the 22" lines. Got all done and it turns I wound up with 3.5" front springs. Am waiting for replacements.
Been driving it for 2 weeks and I can tell you the 22" lines will route just fine. The limitation of my info is that i have the Long Arm kit, but I don't see that the SA arms will cause a problem there. Mine come straight down about 4" inches, curve horizonally inward/forward several inches, curve back around pointing staight down to the caliper. I got 1 right and the other was rubbing the tire until I rerouted it. The curve, BTW, pulls nicely straight out when my axle droops. You do want to make sure it doesn't twist the line. Hope this helps and enjoy the lift! Roger |
