New Clutch now I have TOB noise?

99 jeep wrangler
4.0
ax15

Just had the motor completely rebuilt. while it was out the shop offered to swap the clutch. so i purchased the luk 05-065 clutch, luk flywheel and upgraded the throw out bearing to the national all metal throw out bearing.

Today i noticed that when the clutch is depressed in idle ... it makes a slight knock/ticking sound. when i press in the clutch it goes away.

im kind of bummed because i dont think the engine shop will warranty anything thats not related to the motor.

my question is ...is this slight knock/tick normal ? does it have to do with a new clutch with good spring rate?

i appreciate the help.

ps I'm quite certain its t.o.b related as i had the infamous throw out bearing issues in my 2015 jk with nsg370.

New Clutch now I have TOB noise?

I have that in my TJ (NV3500???). It only has 46K mi, but on the other hand, I have also had that tick since at least 2002 or 2003.

I heard once, 100 years or so ago, that you should not sit (like at a stoplight) with your foot on the clutch, that it is hard on the TOB. I chose to think of the ticking noise as a reminder, back when it would have been hard for me to afford the repair, and now I am just used to it.

EDIT- just an FYI, although it might be assumed with my low mileage, my clutch is still factory original.

That's odd that it would be the TOB if you swapped to a metal one. Sounds to me like maybe the shop didn't install it properly.

That's normal for a NV3550 and not an AX-15 that he has.

Thanks! Could not remember exact model (3500 vs 3550) at that moment.

I just replaced my clutch on my 2000, w/ nv3550. And within a couple weeks I started hearing the same noise when at a stop and clutch is not pushed in. No noise when the clutch is pushed in. Used the same LUK clutch kit. I've been debating what to do about it. Hate to pay to have it al opened up to check it out.
