If u get the rite injectors there should be little to no modding of the injector rail. I have 704's in my 4.0's there are some for sale right now in the classifieds. I bought my injectors from the classifieds over a year ago so I don't really know what vehicle they cam from. Also to make my injectors fit snug all it took was very small bend on the mounting tabs. Good luck guys

If the 704's are the same style as the ones that are currently in the classifieds, then they are the wrong electrical connection for us late 4.0L guys. We need the plug style that has a red slide clip on one side.

I have a 98 tj. What style clip do I need. The ev1 or ev6. And is that the 703's or 784's.

I believe the 703's, and you need to pop your hood and just take a look

Just in case any of my 2.4l brothers are following this . . . Bruce at Fiveomotorsports was able to hook me up with a new set of 4 hole injectors for $180 and they're shipping today (I don't have brand or part number yet). I wanted to replace them anyway (115k miles) and these really aren't that much more then stock remanufactured ones. This 2.4l jeep is the first vehicle I've owned that didn't have a fuel filter that you change every x amount of miles . . . i think there's a "strainer" as part of the fuel pump in the tank but it's not kind you change out as part of preventative maintanece.
I'll update once I get them in . . . I'm confident that I'll be able to blow corvettes off the line and possibly outrun small aircraft (kidding).

2001 2.5L Auto here. I pulled some 4-hole injectors out of a junkyard and the difference was immediate. More power. Better fuel economy. The rip in my seat got smaller and ice cream tasted sweeter.

Then I was chasing an idle issue and switched back to stock to rule them out. It had the same power and fuel economy. Nobody wanted it to be true more than me, but sadly, any improvements were in my head.

Really can't blame people for trying. I know I'll still do things to my Jeep that won't help it run any better. I'm too old to play with Lego's, so I got a Jeep.

Unfortunately, yes. They went to the 2.4L in, I think, 2003. I don't know what they were thinking putting such a weak engine in a Wrangler.

Interesting. With all the time I spend on this forum, I figure I would have heard of / seen that before.

No worries. I'm sure the 4-cyl's are motors many people would like to forget.
