Need some helpful advice ASAP!!!!! '05 OPDA concern

Hey guys found an 05 sport loved the Jeep test drove and checked everything checked out good so I put $100 deposit on it and was going to pick it up either Monday or Tuesday I've been looking for 6-8 months now and passed on a few so I was excited that I found my Jeep then I come back home jump on the computer and read about the opda issues the 05-06 have I check the Vin # and it has the s 8 digits over im not sure about the build date but from what I'm reading its pretty much all 05-06 prone to Having this problem at some point. Now I don't know what to do . I'm about ready to give up on this whole Jeep thing and just keep my beater I have now. Any opinions on my issue. I have read the Jeep forum on the issue and just don't know if I should still buy it or stay far far away. As anybody bought one recently and not worried about this? Should i bring this up to the dealer today? Any opinions or thoughts would be great. Thanks

Don't let the OPDA issue scare you if you like the jeep and the price. First, it doesn't hit everybody. Personally, 127k and counting on the stock OPDA. Second, with the work done by people here the issue is very manageable. Check out the stripperguy mod.

^^^ x2. i had an 05 with over 80k on it and never had an issue. I'd bring it up to the dealer and see what they say, maybe you can get them to do the leg work and see if this jeep has the problem. or knock a few hundred off cause "you will have to fix the problem" even if there isnt one. its all part of the game. I got a grand off mine for pointing out a few issues

If the price is under $14,000,take it.

agreed.
just put a little extra away in case of rainy opda days. it's not that big of a deal, just shouldn't have happened in the first place is all.

Is there a way to check anything before buying besides removing it.
