Need a Quick answer on Soft tops

I have a 97 TJ. I need a new top. Can I use a OEM 2002 softop if I get all the hardware from the origin top? I need a top but I dont want to spend 300$ on a top I cant make it fit. I heard somewhere that 97-01 TJs can use 02-07 tops as long as you have the that newer hardware.(Execption with unlimiteds & 4 doors)
Please I need a responce SOON
Thanks
Adam

I don't have a soft top for my 98 but it all looks the same as my 02. I can't say for sure but look at bestops website and see if all the years use the same stuff, part number wise.

It will fit fine and you shouldn't even need the hardware.

it is all the same 97-02 the difference is 03 and later, the hardware is the same I believe ( not 100% sure), but the window zippers are different.
