Downturn after the muffler. My jeep is too loud right now. I have a magnaflow cat and a 40s flowmaster muffler.

Cat and headers make no difference.Spend $75 on ebay and get a Magnaflow super 40 or super 44.Sell the Banks on craigslist.

Stock muffler has a hole in it and it doesn't help.

I bought a Magnaflow muffler in last December and it is just now broken in. It has a nice rumble, never gets to loud. But during a down shift you get that nice blub, blub, blub sound coming out. When it gets nice and hot, it really sounds nice. So I say give it time to break in.

Make sure you make it loud enough so all the hikers and their tree hugging, trail closing buddies can hear you from far far away.

Unless you plan on never taking it offroad on public lands, then by all means, just straight pipe it.

I've got a glasspack, cherry bomb I think.
They tend to sound ricey in anything other than V8's, but it sounds pretty good in the 4.0

Take a sludge hammer and smash the muffler off. It will have a nice deep rumble with out being really loud.

Most of my friends have no mufflers due to them falling off while off roading. My roommates muffler fell off and I drove over it going 45 on a dirt road. It is currently hanging over our fire place as a decoration. And he still has not replaced it.
