Need input for mounting LightBar on Jeep. Please Help

Hello to all

I am new to this forum and I need some help.

I have a light bar that is typically mounted to a roof rack.

I need a few people to tell me how I would mount a bar to a jeep and not have it fall off.

Our engineers are very skeptical that we should offer our product line to jeeps for fear of it falling off.

By the way I am one of three partners that are designing an HID light bar with 10 forward facing lights for the trail and six rear facing.
You can see our night photos here. www.trailblazerlights.com

I am currently trying to work out a deal to advertise on this site.

anyway back to the story.

Do you guys think it is possible to mount a light bar on a jeep and have it stay? With your short wheel base it might take a beating.

Please forgive our basic website. We have been testing the bar and have soon will have a redesign for the site.

Respectfully

Ron

If you mean a lightbar above the windshield then most of the ones I've seen mount on the main wscrews on the windshield side I think.

IMHO, lightbars above the windshield are pretty much tree limb grabbers. I've seen several mangled bars/lights from rides in heavly wooded areas.

a lot of folks dont like windshield lights (at the bottom of the windshield), and hood lights due to glare. I use floods on the windshield with a silver jeep and have yet to experience glare on my hood.

so the only lightbar I would use would be one mounted on the front somehow.

Interesting. I will have to get my hands on a jeep and see about glare issues. This bar must be mounted over the cab area. I know the reflectors toss out a nice amount of light but all 16-18 lights can be pointed in different directions. The tree limbs are a valid point. That is one reason we stayed with the wedge design. I guess if you were doing some serious rock crawling or forest running we might come up with a cannon plug disconnect and some releasing clamps so you could take off your investment. I'll tell the Aussies to go hit some trees with it and see what happens.

Thank You for your input

Update

Just a little update.

After some private messages from some members here we are going to be releasing this light bar for jeeps. Our intentions are to make them with a quick release plug so you an install them in about 30 seconds to the mounting plate.
As with about everything designed for a jeep theft is going to be an issue.
If you would like to be see the night shots of this bar in action please check this out.

Thanks to Lt Yummy for his long email. Although he hit me with 1000 questions it gave the guys back home something to chew on.

Pre-orders start in Nov.

After the website redesign we will be having a drawing for a free NiteFire.

All you need to do is give a valid email and answer a few non intrusive questions and you will be entered.

The only catch is you will get our newsletter until you ask to be removed.

Oh. We reserve the right to use your smiling face for our website. Everyone likes to see who won and I intend to use your truck/face to prove it.

If you have a hot girlfriend your odds of winning are greater.... j/k

lol No it will be fair. No doubt about it. No pictures will be accepted on the entry form.
