Need Help!!! Throttle wide open when starting

I've been lurking here for awhile and learned a lot from you guys, but couldn't really find anything about this. Just finished changing the manifold gasket on a 99 TJ, and the throttle pegs out wide open when I crank the engine. All connections and linkages look fine. Everything looks Ok as far as the manifold gasket goes. Any help would be greatly appreciated (supposed to hit the trails Sunday)

When you say pegs out you mean it revs way up without you stepping on the gas meanig the throttle plate is closed. If so you have a leak in the manifold somewhere.

Agree with what RockRunner said. Vacuum leak. Take the manifold bolts out and reseat it if you have to.

As usual, you guys were dead on! It took two more tries to finally get it seated right, but all's well. Thanks for all your help. By the way, if anyone tells you that changing the manifold gasket on a TJ is easy, they're crazy. The bolts on the underside of the intake manifold are a real PITA to get to. Not engineered very well IMO. Again thanks for all your help
