Need help in putting the TJ back together after accident
My son fell asleep at the wheel of is TJ. He's fine, but the Jeep is not. He crossed a two lane road and hit a guardrail at a 45 degree angle. The driver side wheel and axle took the direct impact. The driver side was shoved back, the lower control arm was sheared off the upper was bent like a pretzel. The front drive shaft took out the transfer case. (I found pieces if it on the road.)
This where I need the advise of the Jeep Gods's. The TJ is a 97 Sport, 4 cylinder 5 speed. 1.) Will a front driver side upper control arm from a XJ or XJ be a direct replacement? 2.) Transfer Case - I assume I need to get a t-case from a jeep with a 4 banger 5-speed. Will a case from a older YJ, or XJ be a direct replacement 3.) The front driver side wheel is currenty sitting under the front kick panel. Since the driver side lower control arm was sheared off, and the passenger side upper and lower and upper control arm connections on the axle are bent. Is there any tricks / tips I need to know before I begin to put the girl back together. Any help you can pass along would be appreciated.

Bummer... I recently gave my LCA's to the local scrapper truck... I could have given them to you and they would have been useful. I still have my stock UCA"s on my 98, I plan to swap in the adjustables soon. I'll give them to you if you pay for the shipping.
I'm pretty sure the YJ's came with the ax-5 as well, so you might be lucky on getting a t-case out of a YJ. As for the axle brackets... as long as they're not torn, you can massage them back.

Thanks for the offer on the lower control arms, but when we did the 4" super lift, the front lower control arms were replaced. The uppers were still stock.
I'm still wondering about the upper control arms. Are they the same as on an XJ, and ZJ? I may go to a local salvage yard this weekend, and pull the uppers off a donor vehicle.
