need help fast! clutch/master cylinder no clutch!

ok so it started out being really hard to put into gear. to the point of where in the morning i couldnt get it in gear while the jeep was running, at all. so got it towed home. read a lot of posts on here about master cylinders going out so that sounded right. so i just installed the new one, but do i need to bleed it? i still have just about no resistance at all. i took off the slave and it looks mucky, but when i depress the clutch i still get a lil movement out of it. whats the deal guys? cant get this damn clutch to work at all. if anyone has pictures or a write up on this i would be very happy. i cant stand having my jeep sitting in front of my house! please any info!!

Sounds like you may actually have a bad slave cyl. You say it was all mucky (I guess it was leaking??) and it has a little movement? It may be bypassing under load and only working when you have it off and not under load. Just a thought.

its always a good idea to change both at once. also, if it starts to gets really easy to push in, fill the resevoir with brake fluid. its not perminant, but it will get you home. i have yet to need to change mine out so i cant really help with it. good luck.
