Need Help Deciding on a Lift/Tires

Hey everyone, I've got a few questions about my tj. It's a 4 cyl with no upgrades and I'd like to put a small lift on it and some larger tires. I was wondering how big of a lift and tires I can put on it without losing a ton of power. It's going to see general off roading, nothing too intense but I'd like some more capability over the stock set up. Any and all suggestions appreciated!

Oh and I'm not too interested in body lifts.

2 inch budget boost and some 31 or maybe 32 inch tires would do it.

8" LA kit with 40"s. You'll love it.

At LEAST 40" tires

But seriously, depends on what other factors you want to drop some $$ into. I would just do the budget boost 2" and 31s

I'm considering buying a used TJ and am just putting some feelers out to get a sense of what it would cost to get it decently capable for off-roading. So... how much would it cost to upgrade a stock Jeep with a 2 inch lift and 31s?

im in the same boat as you, looking to get into a tj and i want to lift it.

after looking around this site, i found that the Rubicon Express BB is about 230 with shocks and isnt that hard to do. the tires, well that just depends on what you get.

lift = $230
new 31" bfg's $587 (or that is what I paid 3 weeks ago)

That is the setup I would go with or should I say, I DID go with.
