Name...THAT.....PART!!!!

I was poking around looking for the part that drips the water from the air conditioner and i found this thing instead:

Yfrog Image : yfrog.com/59thingiej

It is that tube with almost some sort of filter or grate on the end. I was feeling it with my fingers and felt that it was really clogged up so I kind of brushed all the dirt out of the filter.

Anyone have an answer for me???

It vents the axle or tcase so that the pressure inside is equalized with the outside. Without it, as the axle heats up it would force air out past the seals and if you were say cross a stream it would cool quickly and suck in water past the seals.
