I thought 99 tjs came out with coil packs instead of a distributor (as seen in the video) WTF??? As ear-a-tating as it is to listen to, it still sounds like a belt/pulley-bearing problem adjustment, especially since you saidit got a bit wet under the hood! That'll be 2 Cents please!

Well, I'm 99.9% sure that mine has a distributor (as seen in my video), and I'm a 100% sure it's a 1999 (since I drove it off the lot new in Jan of 99).

As recommended earlier in this thread, I can try to remove the Belt, wait till everything is nice and cool and confirm it's not one of those things.

Well, no noise today... of course... it was at home, in the garage and no colder than 50 or so outside, where this past weekend (when I more noticed the noise), it was outside and probably 20-30's over night, and I only noticed the noise until the engine heated up, so I think the colder temps might have an effect. Or just a random coincidence

Fired up the Jeep for the first time in a month (testing something security related) and the squeal was horrible again... I replaced the Belt with a new Goodyear Gatorback and I did the stick thing to everything that has a pulley and connected to the belt system and the sound is MOST DEFINATLY coming from behind the AC Compressor, and it sounds like it's the Distributor or something connected to the distributor. Should I go out and try to buy and install a new distributor next?
