My Turn! Swift's Jeep Build!

Ok so the time has come. My build will start now due to getting rear ended on monday. Im taking the insurance money and running with it.

Planned mods:
Rokmen Highline fenders
Rock sliders (undecided)
T&T customs full corners
Front an Rear axles (possibly high pinion dana 30 and ford 8.8)
3" suspension lift
37-38" rubbers
Skid plates out the wazzoo

I got rear ended (from the pontiac) while i was at a red light and in turn slammed into the back of the Scions rear

Wreck pictures

Enough of the disaster, heres my jeep as it sits now.
2" BB with 33x12.50 Mickey Thompson MTZ

And started the tear down

If anyone has any ideas as to how to work out the kink in the tub i would be more than happen to listen to your ideas.

My best idea was putting some big clamps on there, putting a tow rope through the clamps and around a tree and gently (lol) pull forward until its perfect (lol)

Kyle

Rokmen Highline kit ordered.
T&T customs full corners ordered.
Genright rock sliders picked up at 4wd
Poison Spyder Tramp Stamp ordered
Fuel cell and everything needed picked up at Summit Racing
New floor pans for the front ordered
Rectangular stock bought (custom crossmember will be built)

Back half of the tub truck bed linered. Also I coated the fuel cell with undercoating to keep the sound down (also color matched it to the paint of the jeep.

Pictures to come tomorrow.

Dents worked out for the most part tramp stamp and corners will cover the majority of the destruction

Cool. What are you planning for the fuel pump?

I'm also impatient, though my BL is scheduled to be delivered today.. since when do they deliver after 3pm? That's dumb, no time to experiment.

UPS hits my house at around 4PM, pretty late in the day I agree. Only news on anything being shipped is my poison spyder tramp stamp

http://shop.poisonspyder.com/TJ-YJ-T.../14-04-011.htm

but its coming for CA so god knows when ill get it.

I need my fenders first. then i can put on my rock sliders which I have. and then my rear corners.

As for an update: 3rd coat of bedliner applied today to the rear half of the tub. Will put bolts and seat brackets back in tomorrow.
Also started my crossmember. Trimmed 2" off the frame so that the crossmember will sit flush with the tub. got the body mount holes drilled. now all i need to do is find some recovery mount things

I wonder what the rear damage would have been if you had a rear bumper on? Would it have been the same, worse or not at all, I ask because I have an aftermarket and wonder how it would truly hold up to a wreck like that.

Keep the pics coming of the progress, me likey!

well i actually think it may have been worse. since the OEM crossmember is the thickness of aluminum foil it just smashed it. if there were to have been a bumper i may have manged to bend the actual frame. Im not 100% though.

Not too many pics to even take right now. Ill snap a few tomorrow

update pics. excuse the lime green paint. i just so happened to have a can of rust stopper paint in the garage that was lime green. lol its getting covered! and that hole in the corner was rusted out real bad and i made the hole to help pry the dent out a little bit. hoping when i put on the corners and tramp stamp it will pull out the rest of the dents

undercoated fuel cell

rocksliders sitting here until my fenders come in

back half bedlinered

out to put the hardware from the back seat/seatbelts back in.

Also doing a little more work with the crossmember
pics to come. keeping it pretty plain dont get too excited

Fuel cell is intalled, all but the bracket im waiting for in the mail. fuel leaks out of the fitting right where it slides onto the metal fuel line coming off of the pump. any ideas on what the issue could be?

THis is where it leaks..
