let it go until you can remove the top and let the sun air it out. My seats got soaked many of times and i used a plastic bag, I wouldn't get soaked. Once it stop raining I removed the top and let them dry out completely. It never left any smell or anything.

A combination of things listed above should work great. Run a shop vac over it again and again and then finish it off with a hair dryer.

You can get a heat gun used to remove paint at your local home depot or lowes. They get 1000 degress so don't hold it too close. It will dry the seats real quick. Thats what I used last year.

Or worse comes to worse take them out and brin the seats in the house.

Nah it seems like it would, but it won't unless you stick it in the seat. It looks just like a hair dryer, but gets hotter. Alot of people use them for shrinking heat shrink for wires, peeling paint. I used it on my bros hockey sticks to replace the ends. There glued in and you have to heat it to 400+ degrees to melt the glue.

Use a tub of Calcium Chloride.

You can buy it at Wal-Mart. It is called Damp Rid. Usually with the Household cleaning supplies.

Leave the top up. Close all windows and doors. Set a tub on each seat. The Calcium Chloride will pull the moisture out of the interior of your jeep. I would keep refilling the tub until the drain pan in the bottom of the tub stays dry.

This is a must to eliminate mildew. This fix won't cost you more than $10-$15.

Good Luck!

I want to take my top off, but I live in Portland Oregon (Read: more rain than sun). Is there a good (non-ghetto) way to prevent rain from soaking the seat?

For example, is there such a thing as waterproof seat covers?

If you have a garage open both doors and prop a box fan on each side blowin on the seats over the night thats what I do when everything gets soaked I have never had a problem with smell I use Febreze(SP?) when it gets really wet
