My first Jeep

Hello Everyone!

I am a 17 year old who has worked his butt off to be able to afford a car. I have about $9000 and am ready to buy a jeep (my dream vehicle). I have come across a 1999 tj with 57000 miles. It has a small lift and 32x11.5 AT's on it. I'm in love with the way it looks and seems to be in pretty good condition with minimal rust. They are asking 8.5. Is this a good buy and what should i offer? Thanks!

Hey i am 17 years old and yesterday i got a 1997 jep TJ. I bought it for 5.000 and looks to be nicer that the picture you have and mine has 60.000 miles. For 8.500 you could get alot better

Definitely worth talking them down. Got any more pictures? Specifically of the undercarriage, steering, and suspension.

Maintain, wheel, upgrade, repeat.

The pictures are taken in rain, the discolered side fenders look black. But i am 90% sure that they need to be replaced to look nice and black

New fenders? Paint works fine. Suggestions? Talk them down like I said. Even with low miles, I would question the front rake. Are they wanting more because of the mud tires, tube bumper, and light bar? See how it rides before offering anything. Report back on vibes, steering shimmy, tracking, and sounds.

Maintain, wheel, upgrade, repeat.

Thanks Everyone! The only problem is that i have to drive about a hour and 1/2 to get to the dealership, so its more of a one and done thing. if it drives well and i get under the vehicle and there is minimal rust ill offer around 7000. What will rust do to the vehicle overtime, and is there anything i can do about it?

So it it actually a 4 cylinder? It does make a difference when it comes time to put 35's on it.
