Not sure if can swap it or not, but if you have snapped it twice now, have you thought about strengthening it rather than just returning it to stock so it can break again?

wise words spoken on this site occasionally; spend a little more and complain about it once, or save now and complain over and over. look into a c-clip eliminator kit for your axle if you dont want to swap axles or get a S35. you can do it yourself very easily with common hand tools and a drill (Superior even supplies the drill bit). ive seen it as low as $550 and as high as $700 so shop around if you get the kit.

your problem are the shafts braking or the spider gears?anyway i wouldn't trust a 20 years old axle under my jeep.buy a truetrak to replace your spider gears and a superior c-clip eliminator and you are golden!

The spider gears are different.
There are 2 different side gear diameters for the D35 - 1.56" and 1.62". The earlier models (pre '92 or '93) all have the larger 1.62" side gears. The difference is between ABS and non ABS. Starting around '92-'93, all D35 axles used the ABS style carrier with the smaller side gears, regardless if they had ABS or not.
