My 8.8 project!

Well, the other night I finally got around to getting my d35 out of there. I will probably be puttin the 8.8 in tomorrow! I am gonna set up the brakelines tonight and get that all figured out.

I am using RE Superflex Adj. control arms for the upper, and going to use the stock lowers.

I was going to try to use the stock d35 lines, but the 8.8 disk have the ebrake cables that loop over it, instead of this type. Anyone know how I can use this one? If I could trim back the spring some, I could try a cable thimble and clamp. That would work, but are the ZJ brake lines everyone uses just a bolt up thing? If they are, I may just use them. I might just go without an E brake for awhile, if I can't figure something out right now.

Here is the new 8.8 with M.O.R.E brackets, painted with Rustoleum Hammered Black. One complaint on the brackets, I had to drill out the shock mount holes because they were cock-eyed. A bolt wouldn't go through em. I had the rotors turned and bought the Wagner pads from O'reily's. I had 4.88's put in, and it lincoln locked! Also I am going to buy a 1350 yoke to run instead of the flange with adapter on it.

I'll try to get some more pics during the install!

cut the end off the d35 brake line and loop it. Use the thimble like you thought. It should be pretty close. Hurry up and get that thing done.

You'll need 1310 yoke if you're going to run the same driveshaft.

Nah, I have to get a new Driveshaft anyways so I might as well beef up the joints.

Well, Got it in and got to looking and I am gonna have to get an adjustable rear trackbar. My left upper spring perch is about an 1/4" from touching my brand new tire! ha... Ran into another problem with my brakeline, I had a custom one made and the guy put the fitting into a vise(i suppose) to fix it and the hole is now egg shaped. Taking it back tomorrow to get it fixed IF they are open on saturday. Other than that, everything is going good.

Thanks, I went ahead and just got ebrake cables from a rear disc ZJ. They just go right into place.

Thanks though! That's what I was trying to do..but my d35 ends didnt look like that?

The e-brake is a great idea, I was wondering what I was going to have to fab up because I thought the ZZJ brake lines were too expensive for what you get. I am working on getting the brackets welded in today and I have to get the HP D30 painted. I'm seeing the finish line

Test - I think we had to cut some of the spring off thats around the cable, other than that it was bolt in.

Penguin - 8.8 is by far the best dollar for dollar mod out there. Def worth the effort
