Multi function switch

My multifunction switch keeps turning my fogs on even when it is not pulled out. So I had to disconect them so I don't come out to a dead battery. Has anyone ever had this problem and fixed it without replacing the switch?

If I have to I'm going to replace it just would rather spend the $50 bucks on some other toys if there is a way to fix it.

Other than leaving them unplugged NO, you'll have to replace the Multi function switch..

I had the same always on problem after I hooked up the foglight wires that had been cut...

Got my switch here:

I don't have a white with orange stripe wire coming from my multifunction switch. Where was it located?

I had that problem and I had to replace the whole swtich I got my switch from jeepsareus. I didn't have to do anything w/ individual wires but I did pull the fog light fuse until I fixed it since it had gotten so bad they were on all the time.

multifunction switch

just replaced multifunction switch due to fogs not working and right turn signals not working. everything works fine, for now, for about 40-50 bucks from carquest versus 194 bucks from stealership...let me know if you need pics...carquest part # is 53-58721 and they call it "turn signal switch". it is a box with a stalk on it for all the lights, you need to take the windshield wiper stalk off of the old multifunction switch and attach it to your new one. also, there is a big, boxy, relay on the back that you need to switch over to the new one. i think it is the turn signal relay. i disconnected the neg term of my battery during install, just in case.

I too am having this problem with the fog light switch on my 2003 wrangler. Does anyone know if Jeep recalled this part since it seems to be an epidemic and total failure on their part? Or has anyone contacted Jeep to see what they have to say about the situation?

I had the fog light problem, but I don't have the fog lights anymore, so I just pulled the relay. Now, a couple months later, the MFS switch has had a complete failure, my turn signals and headlights are going nuts, so I need a new one. Does anyone know if I can get one that doesn't have the fog light switch on it, if it will work? Or do I have to replace it with another one with fog lights?
I'm looking at this one.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SM418-Dimmer...sories&vxp=mtr

Recalls will only happen if there is a danger to people. If the multifunction switches suddenly burst into flames or exploded, then they would react.

I contacted them about the fuel overflow problem while fueling up.. They said they were aware of it, but it wasn't a widespread enough of a problem.

I finally just hooked mine up with a relay and a switch To the dash. Cost free I already had the parts. If I had to buy them it would have been about 12 dollars.
