The only thing that will help get better gas mileage is selling it for a Yugo

And you can rest assured the K&N did not actually help improve your TJ's fuel economy... contrary to what K&N's marketing department would have us all believe. What K&N's air filter IS very good at is letting more fine grime and particulates past it and into your engine.

The most effective gas savings come from driving style ... after that, only a new customized ECU really makes a difference. You can bolt on stuff that people claim will boost your efficiency, but it will only last a few tanks before the ECU starts adjusting the long term trim % to restore the "normal" amount of emissions - which means you burn the same as before.

Very little "add-on equipment" will help mileage. Best bet is to keep your engine running well. Proper maintenance and going easy on the skinny pedal do wonders for mileage.

You just opened a can of worms.
Be prepared to hear how nothing works on a TJ's engine, i'm sure they'll tell you to use the SEARCH function as well. Good luck buddy. ![]() I'll stick around cause this could be entertaining ![]()

I’ll take a stab at it.
1) Putting it in neutral while going down hill. 2) Drafting behind 18 wheelers. 3) Never use you’re A/C. 4) Towing your Jeep on long trips. 5) Cutting your 6 banger in half. All BS aside we are all in the same boat. The good thing is we all look good in our TJ’s but we just have to make a few more stops to get there. |

I would suggest installing individual switches on the injector wires so you can turn them on ond off independantly when you want- but it probably wouldn't work.

If I were you I would try to find a flux capacitor. Yea, nothin will bump up your MPG like a flux capacitor. Only problem is that most TJs can't get up to 88 MPH in the first place..................
