I used the muffler clamps as well. I put them higher up on the roll bars so the dog could still jump in and out through the tailgate easily. The highlift is only up there when we are off road and the back seat is out. When there are people in the back seat they would hit their heads so the jack just sits on top of the trunk space behind the roll bar.

The muffler clamps seem strong enough. I can stand on top of the jack with out any movement. Also solved the wrench need and made it a little easier by putting lock washers and wing nuts on the muffler clamps to make it a quick removal.

The full soft top works just fine with the jack up there as well.

Thanks to all!!!!

I picked up the clamps yesterday and also grapped some wing nuts for easy access. My Hi-Lift will be delivered tomorrow!!!!! If I can figure out how to post pics I'll get some up this weekend to show you guys.

Do any of you guys lock yours inside the jeep?

Thanks

I never lock my jeep because it has a soft top on...all someone has to do is just unzip a zipper and take whatever they want lol. I just lock up valuables in the center console and dash...if you go with just regular nuts instead of the winged ones, nobody will steal it because they'd need a wrench...just my 2 cents

I have the same mounting location, as the Quadratec clamps but i welded 2 bolts one on either side to the roll bar and i have to take the base off the hilift and put in a an offroad bag, but it looks clean, no clamps to worry about soft top goes down nicely.

My padding is too thick.

The padding thats around the rollbars seems to be too thick, I can't get the muffler clamps to go around the rollbar with enough tread to put the nuts on.

Any suggestions? I purchased 3'' clamps to see if that would help but not really.

Thanks

2 1/2" clamps fit fine, i had to tighten mine almost all the way down, and used a cut off wheel to cut off the remainder of the thread on the unused side. very clean install
