8 years later and I'm still paying for the wife mod 1.0 extraction. Girlfriend mod 2.0 is much more user friendly

I've been through a few mistakes on the way to getting my rig to where I want it so I was hard pressed to name just one. Just now I was clearing out some of the piled up stuff in the garage and found the screen replacement windows I bought years ago. Put them in once for about 2 days and never used them again. At the cost of those things it ran about $50 per driving hour for them.

Screen replacement windows? I gotta admit I have never heard of those...

This thread is quite an education, thanks to everyone for sharing their 'mistakes,' as the only thing better than learning from your own mistakes is learning from someone else's...

Cheers! M2

For me it was a Cobra 75 CB. It is nice and small, but is good for line of sight only.

I love my TBS. I took it off once, and had a noticeable lack of power and when the gears shifted(3spd auto) I could feel the jolt.

I put it back on, and none of that.

Of course I didn't pay for mine, the previous owner who wanted to 'hot rod' it did.

Throttle Body Spacer, Bestop SuperTop, Frame mounted rocker guards (have body mounted now), Quick Discos (Have Anti-Rock now and love it), Snorkel (good while I used it but then got into rocks instead of mud), K&N FIPK 2 kit, Drilling a hole in the track bar mount on the front axle instead of buying an adjustable front track bar in the beginning.

First gen Tera Arms..........chassis mounted rear upper CA brackets came away from the chassis. front uppers are looking slightly messed up but are still holding.

Bushwackers flares, first trip shattered front drivers (RHD TJ)

Wilderness Rack.....great product and i still use it , but VERY poor build quality.

mounting my Uniden CB inside my factory center and extra switches to the face of my center colsole console.....pain in @ss wiring all throughout the console gets pulled out all the time when i put larger stuff in the console.

There are a couple of "Bad Mods" I have seen repeated by a few people in this thread and my question is- What was Bad about them?

-Bestop Supertop

-Bushwacker Flares

The reason I ask is I was thinking of these as mods/upgrades

Bushwackers are extremely brittle, they look great - but aren't worth a damn anywhere you might brush against something.

Warn fenders aren't as pretty, but those suckers are very giving and retain their shape excellently. They can snag up or get mashed in and still go back to their original shape.

Thats too bad. Bushwackers do look awesome, but if they shatter easy then its not worth the price.

**So while looking at other types of flares I came across THE #1 UNDISPUTED JEEP MOD TO AVOID!

Should have bought a Congo Cage for 1/2 the price.
Amen Brother!! I didn't include this in my mod comments because I bought my jeep used and it came with the Topfive Rack. But, you are 100% right. This company has no customer service. Support is non existent. The rack is ok, but I would never ever recomend them.

I hated my supertop for the way it fit around the doors, every time it rained I had water in the jeep, crappy frame design for the door surround area. The OEM top is easier to put up, take down, & also looks better.

Yeah, they look great.

Maybe one day Warn will make a similar version with their superior product.
