I don't think I regret anything as it all was either a learning experience or a necessity at the time due to monetary situations.
If I had to pick one thing it would be the Aussie locker in the rear.

do not waste your hard earned money. any header without expansion joints will crack. yes you can argue that borla has the million mile warranty, but do you really want to use it every year or two to replace the cracked header? maybe you really enjoy working on your jeep that much or paying someone to, but i dont. you can get the manifolds with expanding sections for under $100. thats a lot of saved money, to me anyway.

Id have to say the Mod to avoid is the Wife Mod.
Completely incompatable with a Jeep. Now, everytime I try to add some new mod to the Jeep, the Wife Mod starts making all kinds of racket and the only way I have figured to stop it is to add a Jewlery Mod to the Wife Mod. Costing me even more. In fact, the Wife Mod is a more costly Money Sink than the Jeep. |

The appropriate wife mod for a Jeep is one of farm origin. They seem to be more compatible with the Jeep, and interact well with other mods. They aren't much on cosmetic mods, just practical ones (strength, functionality, durability, and power mods are all compatible). I learned that one the hard way...but was lucky to find the right wife mod, and I have no problems now.

ANYTHING made by Smittybilt, Steel Horse, etc. When I 1st bought my Jeep, I was VERY new to the scene (ergo my purchase of a D35 rear ended Wrangler X) and I wanted some tube steps...so I purchased some SmittyBilt tubular side steps, installation was walk in the park, however they rusted from the INSIDE out in less than a year...never again. By far those tube steps were the worst purchase I've made for the Jeep...
I also purchased some light protectors for the Jeep made by Steel Horse, which I believe is a subsidiary of SmittyBilt, they also rusted (TONS of surface rust) in less than a year, those were not so problematic, I simply took a wire brush/dremel to them and repainted them.

Gotta agree on neoprene, if you think about it, you couldn't pick a worse material to make covers out of, absorbs water/sweat, induces sweat above 80 degrees

Here is my list of things I was going to buy/thinking about buying that I will no longer waste money on:
Skyjacker Shocks - I think I might just spend a bit more on the Ranchos Neoprene Seat Covers - If they suck over 60 degrees, then they'll be hell when I transfer to Hawaii. Bushwacker Fender Flares - Only have 31s, so I'll keep searching Ebay for Rubicon Flares to replace my stock ones.
