I'm not a big fan of the plastic add a trunk I bought. It doesn't seem very secure and it doesn't leave much room since it fits between the wheel wells. If I could do it over I'd get a metal one that fits over the wheel wells. and everything in it falls out when I open the tailgate.

my sun performance mirror movers are ok, at least I don't have to worry about the mirrors when I switch doors, but I had to get a little covex mirror for the passenger side mirror to be able to use it all and it's smaller than I would like. I wouldn't buy them again

Not starting with a Rubicon Unlimited. Not realizing that I would enjoy jeeping more than motorcycle touring (now I have 2 motorcycles to sell).

I should have sucked it up and started with a Rubicon Unlimited 6 speed with dual tops. Then my first and only lift be a 4.5" RE Long Arm w/ 1.25" JKS BL and 1" MML. Then, an Nth Tummy Tucker, TW Driveshaft, PSC Tube Fenders & Crusher Corners with extended flares, 5.13 gears, Currie Steering, and 35" Toyo Open Country MTs.

I wasted money on a Warn Engine Skid, 31" tires, 32" tires, D30 Aussie Locker (replaced 9 months later with a 4.56 re-gear and front/rear TrueTracs), Mopar side steps, Jeep softop and Bestop Safari Top (instead of a just buying a Viking fastback top), not selling my '04 TJ to my neighbor when he gave me an overgenerous offer when I could have turned around and used the money to by a new '06 Rubicon Unlimited for only a couple grand more. I love my jeep, but this is depressing...

hard upper sliders. don't get me wrong they work/look great. but the under side has no seal/rubber, so my half doors are scratched to hell along the tops.

Throttle Body Spacer. Every mod I have picked off of 4x4xplor.com has been pretty good., expect that one The TBS just makes an annoying whine and didn't seem to do much. I learned a cheap lesson on that one.

On the K & N FIPK, I had one that came with my Jeep. I pulled it because it appeared to let way to much dirt in. I am back to the stock airbox and a paper filter.

Yeah, actually the stupidest thing I ever did since owning a Jeep was not buying a Rubicon. I agree with planman. If I could have forseen all the things I'd be doing, I would have spent a little money up front instead of a lot of money over time.

Since I can't run that type of filter, I now run a TrueFlow air filter... which while much better than a K&N, is still not as good as a traditional paper element air filter.

Jerry,

I too went with K&N & dumped my stock box & tube. If you are using K&Ns tube, what model TrueFlow did you use to replace K&Ns filter element?

A turbocharger. The Idea sounded cool. The sound sounded cool. It was a big PITA that cost $$$ and that was not cool.

I would have paid for 1/2 my v8 swap.

No idea, I just had them choose one that had a 3 1/16" opening that fit my air tube that had been cut off for the K&N when I removed the air box.

Skyjacker shocks, It sucks having to emry(sp?) cloth the shaft from all the rust. It will take out the seals in no time.

Hi tec retreads, horrible looking, tread cracking, and took lots of weight.

I'm shur i'll think of more in a bit.

Not starting with an Unlimited Rubicon. The extra room would have been nice, but I do love my TJ Rubicon. I am about to dump a ton of money into it and when that happens, it will be a race to see who lives longer, me or the Jeep!

selling my YJ that i worked on and built my self.... from stock to a 3" lift, 31's, winch, made a grill guard in metal shop... rear axle, and so much more.... i had so much time into that thing, and got **** for it... had like no rust on it, and went through everything i threw at it...

2,000 for an 87... it had a 93 title due to dash change ( or stolen, we dont quite know, bought it like that and that was his story....)

now i have a stock 2003 TJ, and it just lacks in every dept.... i am soo low on money due to making payments now that i cant go buy a lift kit and tires.... so im stuck stock....

live and learn, you'll be sorry.....

i miss that thing...

I can't believe that no one has regretted Bushwacker Flares, with 4 pages before me. They do look good but are OH so brittle. Also starting off with BFG/AT tires. Went to MT/R's much better. Just run the AT's for the snow months now.

If your ultimate plan is for 35s, it's a toss up as you will end up regearing the Rubi, if it's 33s or less go Rubi.
