Miles Per Tank

Has anyone added an auxillary fuel tank to increase the distance one can travel before needing to fill up again? I have a tire carrier rear bumper with two 5 gallon blitz cans but has anyone came up with a bigger tank? (besides a fuel cell inside the tub) I get so tired of having to fill up all the time. I followed my parents to their cabin last month and I had to fill up 3 times to get there and they did not have to fill up untill they arrived.

How far do you all get on a tank of gas?

If I'm brave and on a decent highway... nearly 300 (280-290 before lights on). Right now I'm at 200 and on a 1/4 tank. I'm in school though, so I only drive about 3 miles to work and back, to the grocery and to home(150 miles). So with like 4 trips a week, mine lasts me a little longer.

As far as an axillary gas tank, idk if there is room for one unless its in the tub!

200?!!
Wow, I'm keeping my stock tires till I'm out of school!

I don't refuel until the light comes on and that's around 250 miles city driving.

Out on the highway (if I keep it around 2200 rpms - 65-68mph) I can get in the 20mpg area and that gets me close to 300 but it's a little nerve racking being out on the highway with the fuel light on

I'll run 300/320 and when I fill it will take 16/17 gallons. Usually gets 20.? mpg on hwy. I run 31"s with 3.73's 5sp I6. WTF is with this 200mi stuff? even if your only getting 15/16 mpg you should be able to go 250mi.

My guage starts hovering around "E" at about 200 miles also -I have the 2 fuel cans on the bumper - Ive been thinking about running dry to see how many miles I can get on one tank. I have a feeling it will go a lot more than 200 miles. I just hate to run out in a bad spot and be looking like a dork on the side of the road filling up with a fuel gan (im sure every fine girl in town would be driving by right then and laughing, pointing and throwing trash and bottles at me

I'm not sure why, but I am getting about 250 (give or take about 10 to 20) per tank. My runs are usually highway miles, at about 65 to 70 mph for about 20 miles to work. Other than that, it is usually slow going on the rocks up in the hills.

Light turns on around 185-190 most of the time. I try to get fuel asap after that so I never push that limit much.

Naw, the really fine girls would be thinking. Look at that smart young man. He's always prepared. Like a Boy Scout. But he sure has an ugly car. Oh well, maybe I can find me a nice Skinhead with a Mustang?
