Personally I run the radials. A guy i've wheeled with used to run the 35" bias ply on the road as his daily driver. They don't last as long as the radials and in the morning he said that they would get flat spots and it would take a a couple minutes for the flat spots to go away.

In my experience bias-ply tires ride like crap on the highway, but they do a lot better off the highway. If you spend more than half your time in the dirt then it is worth it. If you don't wheel that much or need to drive the jeep on the road a lot I would go with the Radials. Besides, how much worse could they really do off road?

Because you have to decide to run a left or right spare. No big deal, but if you ruin a tire and need to press the spare into permanent duty, you might need to have it turned around. (no worries with a non-matching spare.)

The Baja Claws were awful noisy, one of the loudest tires I've heard. (Almost like swampers) And if you live where it's muddy, they didn't work well in mud at all, just clogged right up. No one around here runs them anymore. I have the Xterrains now and would buy them again (if price wasn't a consideration,) even though they look so similar to the Claws, they aren't bad at all on the road are about average with most mud tires off road.

I have the radial ones and really like them. I have had no issues out of them at all. They seem to be very quiet to me for a tire with that aggressive of a tread design. Like someone else said unless you are going to be doing more offroad than on I would stay with the radial. Pretty much any biased tire is going to be fairly rough and noiisy on the road.

i found that my 33's (radials) handle like crap in the wet, and on hi-speed gravel roads the TJ would slide sideto side around corners cause of the open tread patten has no sideway's / lateral traction
