Melted AX-15 Reverse Switch Connector

Investigating my non-functioning reverse lights I inspected the switch on the transmission. It appeared fine, but wasn't plugged in. The male end that should connect to it was nearby, but melted. (Damage done by PO). On my 1997 TJ the male connector is part of a 4 inch long connector. As I look at pictures on here, mine seems different, possibly a mod, but I don't see them point.

Does your TJ have this short "middle-man" connector?
What is it called? I can't find a replacement anywhere because I don't know what I'm looking for.
Any leads on where to get one?

I could just hard wire this whole thing, but I strongly don't want to do that.

This picture is from Mad Maxx's picture database. In his right hand is start of the connector I need. Although his appears to be the final connection.
