Mass Back or no mass back carpet?

So, I got a used TJ with some nasty carpet that needs to go. My plan was to Herc the tub, then apply some eDead to really knock down the sound. That being said, should I go with a slightly thicker Mass back carpet or stick to the regular poly back replacement?

Well let me ask this. Has anyone purchased carpet and do you prefer mass back or poly back? The price difference is roughly $50 and I'm curious if it's worth the money.

I just put down the Herc and called it good. I could not imagine having anything back in there that stunk as bad as my wet, moldy, dirty carpet was.

X2-Agree fully. I herculined my tub last year and now just can hose it out. Also in the winter the foorboard capet in the drivers side would always be wet from snow and salt on my shoes. With herc, I can just pull the mat and dry the floor to stop the rust. It will be a little louder w/ out carpet, but heck its a Jeep....if you want a quiet comfortable ride go with a toyota. No more midew smells or wet stained carpet for me!

i despise carpet in a jeep, once it gets wet it seems like it never wants to dry out
