making rough country lift ride smoother?

I have the rough country 4 inch series 2 lift. Its actually a decent lift for the money i paid for it but just a hell of a rough ride. To soften up the ride i was thinking maybe some OME or bilsten shocks. Will this be enough or do I need to get different coil springs as well?
thanks,
Jake

After two years, the shocks that came with my RC Series II lift were shot. I replaced with with RE Monotubes, and the ride is much better. The RE Monotubes are still pretty stiff, so if you are looking for a softer ride, you might consider adjustables.

Springs really don't ride rough, shocks do. I have 4.5" springs and I replaced my DT3000 shocks with OME and instantly noticed a difference.

Yeah, the DT3Ks are kinda harsh, aren't they?

Cheers! M2

change out the shocks and adjust your tire pressure, should help a bit

Here's how to make that RC lift ride better.
1. Remove the lower front forward control arm bolt. Set that aside.
2. Remove the rest of the springs, control arms, track bars, steering damper and shocks.
3. Replace it all with a RE 4.5 system, and your choice of OME, RE monotubes, or Bilsteins.
4. Remember the bolt? You don't need it.

Just kidding.
Shocks are what you need.

I have the same lift and had the same problem. All I did was disconnect the sway bar and it rides alot better.

Jeez, who engineers some of these products? I just installed today the Superlift 2-inch BB (kit 5062) on my '06 and holy crap, it is extremely rough riding. I installed Rubi springs, which have higher rates, but it is these new superlift shocks (10-stage valving my arse), that have turned my pleasant DD TJ into a harsh, rough rider. Am I gay?. I hope they break in, or I may switch the whole thig bact to stock. by the way, I got 2.5 lift at the rear, and 2.0 at the front with 1.75-inch spacers and rubi springs.

I thought the DT3000s were supposed to be soft? I was looking into them b/c their half the price of OMEs. Anyone have any shock recommendations? How about some skyjacker hydros or full traction hydros? JUST LOOKING FOR A SOFTER RIDE.
thanks,
Jake

I think im gonna get they skyjacker hydros I have only heard good things about them. I have heard to many mixed reviews about the DT3000s being real soft and real stiff. Im sure anything will be better than these rc8000s

I've got the same RC 4" Series II and the same complaint. I ordered the OMEs today from Quadratec and I'll let you how they perform.
