Well there's that and If the kids are small enough it's like a mobile "jungle gym"!

I dont have kids yet, but I've heard the nets are good for keeping branches off of them on the trail.

*Update*

I finished finally over the weekend

I have to do a little trimming but thats pretty much it. Here are some pics. Sorry about the quality, took them before I left for work this morning and it was still a little dark

Finished product looks extremely nice. 1.) Fraction of the price and 2.) Hand made by yourself. Win. Win. Very Cool, indeed. Thanks for the post.

That Looks Great! I'm Jealous!!!I guess I gotta empty some more pockets for material!

Alig33, these nets are not only good looking, but good for loose cargo off road when in off-camber situations, Or when one's hat flies off one's head on the highway.

Thanks! I thought the color matched thread would look nice. I'd like to make a set for someone with a yellow or white Jeep just to see how they come out.

As far as needles go, I used 14 and 16. I'd have only used the 16 but I couldnt find them locally anywhere Michael's, Joanne Fabrics, nobody had anything. Even with the few 16s I had, they were breaking or bending. I'm not sure if it was because the machine was old or just because the fabric was that strong.

Looks great! Your thread definitely inspired me, the materials I ordered are waitin' for me at the post office today. I got 100 yards of each, 1" and 2", 50 metal rings and 100 buckles for $100 CDN shipped. I'm planning on doing the entire package. gonna start this weekend

Good for you!

Make sure you measure everything out. The part that drove me nuts was after sewing something, realizing the boxes werent the same measurements. Screws up the entire thing and forces you to redo everything.

Awesome work!
Did you ever come up with a pattern for all of it?
I saw the one for the side windows but not for the roof and back.

Sometimes needles will bend or break if the tension on the sewing machine needs to be adjusted. (Just in case you were planning on making more - might wanna check that for next time.)
