No, Thank YOU for the compliment! I'm the Raingler guy and I think you did a pretty sharp job myself!

I was going to say something similar but couldn't think of anything that wouldn't come across like a jerk but I think you nailed it.

Quick question; I was a trimmer (automobile upholsterer) years ago. It think you're doing an awesome job, but the one flag that it throws up is the thread. What kind of thread are you using? I can't remember all the specs, but I do remember our machines used a much heavier thread for industrial sewing, I don't beleive it was 100% cotton either. You may be good to go with whatever you're using, but it's worth a little research to make sure whatever thread you're using will stand up to the long term abuse before you start making anymore.

Regardless, nice job! It's inspired me to consider doing the same.

I've been using a 100% polyester outdoor fabric woven thread. It's STRONG. 3 interlaced threads. I can't break it with my hands.

I used the same thread ... although my old machine doesn't like it very much, it's strong as hell! I tried the netting out like a hammock and it held my fat arse noooo problem

side note to the OP .. if you have leftover pieces of strap here's a use for 'em .. whipped up a set of 4 of these last night in about 4 hours .. way better than the super stretchy factory junk

Awesome guys! Keep at it, they look great. I've got a Doberman that loves to run around with us, this is definitely going on my list of do-it-myself mods this summer.

Finally finished my nets for the Jeep and dog. The side nets lasted approx. 3 1/2 minutes. He ate right thru them. My brother suggested rebar for the next set. Oh well, they looked awesome for a little while. LOL

I never even saw this!

What kind of dog do you have?!? I have a doberman/rottie mix and she cant get through it lol. You must have a bear!

*Update*

I'm making a set for a girl that's in NOVAjeepers with me. She has an all black JK and wants the nets to be PINK with black stitching. Not what I'd want personally but definitely unique!

I'll post pics when I'm done with them. I'm still waiting on the webbing to be shipped.

Look nice! I ended up going with the 2" webbing in the rear. Its a lot easier and faster to sew.

Post pics when you're done!

BTW, here's a pic of the pink set I started

Tjsahara you still around? Im looking into doing this myself and had a few questions.
Did your sewing machine work fine? How many feet/yards of fabric did you use? How is it holding up?
