I had a tough time finding it when I did mine. I used to see it at all the auto parts stores especially the Long Grain ones....... None of them carry it now. I had to go to a big hobby store where they have a lot of RC stuff. They had several of the little spray cans and commented that people come in and buy several cans at a time. Kind of like trying to make up a couple full size cans worth.

Ditto, my friend, Ditto.....

6:00 pm to be exact......

Since we have nothing but sun next week I think I am going to have to figure out a way to rig the flags to the Jeep.

Well what did you guys do for fathers day.

I worked...........

On the Jeep of course.....

Got the fender mod done so here, as promised, is the write up.

To start I marked the cut line with graphic stripe tape. I had this left over from a flame job I did on a bike. This tape stretches, bends and contours to any angle with the greatest of ease. This tape can be found at any body shop paint supply store. It is made by 3M.

I pulled the tape to mark the cut line then put some dots, on the cut side of course, with a Sharpie in case the tape pulled off during cutting. This way I had an easy connect the dot process to re-tape the original line I eyed for the cut. The longest part of this process was eye balling the cut line with the mask tape so I did not want to lose this line once it was where I wanted it.

Next I used the wand attachment on the Dremel with a cutoff wheel and followed the tape line. This cut was very quick and easy and only required a little cleanup after it was done with a sanding disk on a grinder.

Next came the cut for the metal part of the front of the fender. I added some 3M Mask tape on top of the contour tape to help protect the metal around this cut and then ran the Sharpie on the cut tape line to make it easier to follow. For this I used a 3" cut off air tool. This was the perfect tool for this part of the job. It cut through this metal like butter and was very precise.

Next I took my angle grinder with a sanding disk and cleaned up the edge.

I then marked off the support that needs to be cut around a temp led turn signal light I bought from Wally World that I am using till I find a more permanent solution.

Now that this is cut and installed I pulled all flares off and cleaned them up, sanded them down with 220 grit and wiped them down really well with Prep Solv then shot them with Bulldog Adhesive rattle can spray so the final coat will really stick and then finished them with Duplicolor Bed Liner spray paint. Here are some shots of the final look. Oh, and I sprayed the front inner fender wells with the bed liner spray to clean the look up, since the factory spray job was just primer with body color over spray wherever it ended up......

Now it matches the rear. Can't believe they half a$$ed it that bad from the factory.....

Took her for a long ride afterwards. Now I really need to get the rear shocks on, the rear pucks removed and some 35's under all that extra room.....

Thanks smithtime09.

I read every post I could find on this topic before doing it and could not find anything detailing what had to be done or the tools used so figured I would make this a little easier for the next guy......

Hope this helps. I love the look.
