This build looks like someone who wanted to build a king cab F350 into a "sweet" ride ended up just doing it to a jeep.
I don't see how you can spend over $20g's on this thing and slack on things like sway bar disco's and a huge body lift, It's a sweet engine/drivetrain setup, but it doesn't seem like you really know what you're doing- somebody else just did it all for you. Can't you stretch your wheel base a bit more? It looks like it, sorry I didn't read every post but it's become a very long thread. |

Had you read the entire thread a lot of those questions would have been answered. But Ill go ahead an address them because the thread has kind of died. First of all I really dont think I "slacked" on anything on this build. If you attempt something like this then you can talk. My purpose was to get the big things out of the way and then work on the smaller things as they come up. Sway bar discos are in NO way a necessity. If I want them disconnected all I have to do is remove a bolt. As it is the suspension flexes well enough for me to not disconnect most of the time. The body lift has been talked about and addressed many times. It ended up being necessary to save money in the long run and prevent other serious modifications. To say that I dont know what Im doing is pretty ridiculous as well. I researched and planned this build myself. I did not have the means to build this myself. Being a soldier living in the barracks is not conducive to building something like this. I had a shop do it, otherwise I would STILL be building this thing myself. I have been working on vehicles with my father, and on my own time since I was old enough to pick up a wrench, and he taught me pretty much everything there is to know. Ive done many things myself after the build was completed and anything I cant do myself I have a shop here in el paso that lets me use their tools and will help me do anything I need to. The wheel base cant be stretched untill I move the gas tank up closer to the body. That body lift everyone complains about will allow me to do that. I have to take off the skid, and cut it and rebend/redrill it and then remount the tank. This will prevent the diff cover from impacting the gas tank, as that is the only thing preventing me from stretching the wheel base some. Im glad you took the time to read the thread and comment, but please do not compare this to some mall crawler. My rig is VERY capable off road and Im still finding its limits. I myself will readily admit that I am not the best off road, and I am still learning about different aspects. Thats half the fun. I love off roading and everything that comes with it. I dont post many pics of me off road because I usually dont take many pictures while Im driving. You can not respect my build all you want and tell me what you would have done differently but like I said, untill you take something like this on yourself you will never know what it takes.

Love the build and THANKS for the video - that beast sounds amazing....great work
Your response to above is right on - start with a fantastic platform, iron out the finer details while you learn to wheel it. Just because the majority of us start out with a set of $79 disconnects as our first mod doesn't mean that's how ya have to do it - would much rather start out with a huge motor, atlas II, 60's and a long arm and worry about the details later! Have fun with it and thanks for serving - CR |

Love the build man,I just sat here and read all 799 replies. On another note My bro in law is at Bliss and I spotted his silver Explorer Spor-trac at the dragstrip in your video. He works there sometimes.
