TX tj has a really good example of how it should be notched, the ideas are all correct. I notched my truss for my 44 so that It would sit lower on the axle, look in my build thread and see how I did it if you want more information.

Go with the AC pump but convert it to an air compressor for onboard air? My stock AC pumps works brilliantly for that and blows the 4 35's up from 2 psi to road pressures in less time than it takes for an ARB electric to do only one tire. Who needs AC when you have windows? Brilliant build project, but I bet you'll be saving a lot faster when you get hooked up on those big 60 pumpkins a few times. Best of luck.

just about an inch, theres a part of the frame at that spot that stands out. you basicly take out that whole area

I think Im just going to forgo the notching of the frame. And its not that the AC pump is really too big, its just that it sits right on the frame. So getting a different one wouldnt do much I dont think.

The air compressor idea is great, but again, I would still have to notch the frame. I dont doubt that they would do a good job, Im just leery about it. Im going to head up there today, and see what they say.

And from what TXjeepTJ has told me, you can use the Speedo, but the Tach will be a no go on the stock jeep cluster. Which is fine by me because the jeep tach will barely show the LS2 redline anyway. Ill just get an aftermarket one down the line.

And YES TXjeepTJ be jealous! That centerforce clutch is SEXY! Too bad you opted for the slush box lol. Maybe you could have given me a run for my money.

Aww, sory TXjeepTJ. Didnt want to make you feel inadequate in anyway.

So, again with some more updates.

The radiator and electronic fan came in today from Novak. I bought their radlock radiator. It looks great, and Im sure will perform even better. They didnt have the fan on there yet when I came in, and for some reason I forgot to actually take a picture of it, but Ive got pics of the radiator.

And just so you can get a feel for the size of these axles

Ive decided not to notch the frame. Who needs AC when you dont have doors or a top on anyway. Im going to be buying some rims tomorrow or the next day along with some 35 inch Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, and as soon as I do that they should get started on putting the axles in. The engine is going to take a little longer than expected. I need to get a wiring diagram for them, so they know whats what and all that. Either that, or Im going to order a brand new harness from http://www.eficonnection.com/ But from what TXjeepTJ says, it will probably be a while before I could get that from them. I have to call them during business hours tomorrow and get an ETA on it before I decide what Im going to do.

Im going to start working on a parts list, so you guys can see exactly what Ive gotten so far. Ill add prices where applicable, but some things, like the clutch were a package deal.

HAHA! No, the axles are sitting at the shop that is doing the swap. They are in the display area of the shop. I let them put the axles on display, because as you said, they are SEXY! But soon enough, they will be under my jeep. And hopefully soon after that, on the trail!!

So what kind of discount do you get on the install for letting them showcase your gear?

I may have missed it somewhere but is there any reason you are only going with 35's? I would think that with axles that big, it almost seems useless unless they are holding 40"+ tires for ground clearance issues.

You must be missing the fact that Im running an LS2, which pushes 400HP and 400ftlb. I would crazy to NOT run axles that big. Plus, I always have room for larger tires down the line. I dont have the money to run a lift that would allow me to run 40inch tires. Let alone buy the 40 inch tires, or the rims, or the tire carrier/bumper to cary the full size spare. Rest assured, once Im done with my second deployment, this thing will be running at least 40 inch tires, with a winch, full roll cage, and bumpers. If you know of anyone that would like to sponsor my project feel free to let me know lol. Otherwise, Ill have to do it a few steps at a time.

Windsma - The LS2 has a separate belt that drives the AC compressor. Its not tied into the serpentine belt. Therefore, its really just a matter of removing the pump, and the belt. But thanks for the info.

58dDriver - Thanks for the compliments. And If you aint CAV you aint SHI.... You you know the rest!

all that and 35's or 36's even with 400lb/ft of torque you could get the sawzall out and run 39's.
