Keep us well informed of the headaches you may or may not have with this install.... don't skimp on the details!!!

And take lots of pictures of it, like it was your playboy bunny of a girlfriend and you are going to be deployed for a few months

I'm extremely impressed! From the looks of it, you can blow most cars off the street as well as eat anything mother earth has to throw at you.

DAMN. And I thought a LS1 would be sweet, well, it still would... but DAMN. I'm speechless for you. You really went all out. If I even had 6500 for a LS2 I woulda just bought a 98 Z28 Camaro for a DD and had a ton left to mildly build the Jeep lol. You still would have a killer rig with 60's, I don't see the need for an Atlas 2, but a LA lift, 37's... wow. I'll be checking back here often. DAMN.

You better beat this thing within an inch of its life, youll never break the axles or tcase, so that just leaves d-shafts... Better have spare. Update when you have a chance want to see the space in the engine compartment and your skidplate, and tcase mount.

Curlee, you should have put something up today like,

"Nah, i'm not planning on wheeling this much, just want something that will cruise the highway a little better".

The insanely jealous flaming would have been hilarious. Great april fools joke.

dude that is sick ... you must have a very itchy wallet to be able to drop dimes like that on a project like this.

Those axles and that atlas are pretty frickin sweet, not to mention the motor. Who's doing the motor mounts and all of that?

What is the mileage like on the LS1 Wranglers ? I had a '98 Z28 M6, and I could pull down 27mpg on the highway. It also ran 8.4x-8.50 @ 85-86mph in the 1/8 bone stock. Man that is a great engine family. *drool*

Sory

Hey, guys. Sory, I had intended on some kind of april fools joke, but never got the chance. I got off work, and fell asleep. Didnt even get the chance to go out and see my jeep yesterday.

As far as unforeseen problems go, I really havnt run into any yet. But that is mainly because of TXjeepTJ's knowledge, on this swap, my own general knowledge and my fathers outstanding knowledge about corvettes and their engines. Of course, this project is far from finished, so anything that does come up i will let you all know. Like I did say though, I hadnt realized that the LS2 from a vette had an electronic throttle body, so that is something to keep in mind. Also, you WILL need a new fuel pump, and possibly larger lines. Im going to run stock lines for now and see how it works. Of course if its an issue I can always run my own down the line.

Someone said "I dont see the need for the atlas II" Well, if you look at the very first pic, you WILL see the need for the atlas II. My NP231 literally exploded. I had intended on using my old transfer, and getting an adapter for it. As you can see though, that wouldnt work. Also, as ive said 20 times already, I found no reason to skimp on this project. I wanted NO weak links, and thats pretty much what Ive accomplished. Although, I was talking to someone that HATES jeeps, and he said "Wow your only weak link now will be the frame and the body." of Course he is a fan of full size trucks, and cant comprehend what good a jeep is. That is of course, untill I outperform him on almost any trail he can think of.

Ok, off to work. Ill do my best to get out to the shop today and get some more pics.

Damned Scouts always have to tinker with stuff. You should be blowing that deployment money on a new Harley like everyone else. Great project, good luck with it .
