Very nice build. I cant wait to finish mine up the way I want. Im going to basically strip it down like you did and reroute all wiring and fluid lines and clean everything up. Ill be out of the army in about a month so that should leave me plenty of time to take care of all the little stuff Ive been neglecting since its completion. Maybe one day while Im driving my rig back to CT Ill stop by and we can have a little race lol. Im pushing about 460HP right now after I stroked it to 402 and put the z06 cam in it. Still need to get it on a dyno to see exactly what Im pushing. I cant wait to see what yours runs. You going to run it down the strip and see what it will do? Mine ran a 15.6 1/4 before I stroked it and put the cam in. It ran a 6 second 1/8th mile in the dirt, but I could have gotten it faster if I had practiced some more.

Sorry, but i don't think so. 6 flat in the 1/8 is about 9.5 in the 1/4. 7sec in the 8th is in the high 10s. And in the dirt?

Suggestion.
Replace the crank damper. Get rid of the factory on as with a turbo it will start wobbling and come apart.
Have a 99 Vette. Ask me how I know. The factory one is a POS.

Seriously dude? I have the time slips, Ill dig them up and post them here once I get back to el paso on sunday. Sure, a car on a track that runs a 6 second 1/8 might run a 9.5 in the 1/4 but you arnt taking into account that I litteraly have the aerodynamics of a brick and spinning 37" tires. I can get up to speed pretty fast but top end is where I die out. Im geared low and in dirt I was getting great traction. My times werent 6 flat, either. Sory If I made it out to seem like that. It was running high 6s and low to mid 7s ll night. I dont know, most people that run an 11.9 will tell you they runs in the 11s, same for 9.9 they say its a 9 second car.

My SRT4 ran 7.6@94mph and 11.9@114mph ( 1/8 and 1/4 ).

I'm wondering where in the hell is a track that you can test your 1/8th mile times IN THE DIRT... That would prob. he popular here in "Florida the flat".

Its called sand drags. Pretty common here in texas. Southwestdrags - El Paso, TX December 2008 ........ Like I said, Ill dig out the time slips when I get home on sunday, if I still have them. Im probably going to the sand drags later this month as well, so Ill definitely have some time slips if I get out there.

This is such BS. My Porsche 930 had the turbo mounted just behind the rear bumper on the driver's side. There is nothing to cover or protect the turbo from the elements. I drove through plenty of rain and puddles and never once had a concern about my turbo. I ran the RUF K27 turbo in that car at 2.0 bar so it got plenty hot and I can promise you rain didn't slow me down one bit in that car.

On my STi I would pack ice onto the intercooler and completely fill the air scoop. The IC sits directly on top of the turbo and water dripped on it all the time. Hell, in the winter it wasn't uncommon for snow and ice to get into the air scoop and drain onto the turbo. Again, no problems with the turbo.

On my Evo IX the turbo was mounted directly under the giant vent on the hood. Water poured onto the manifold and turbo every time it rained and again, I never had a single problem with the turbo.

I'm going to just throw this out there... some tracks can be inaccurate.

A 6 flat, in anything, is stupid fast. 430HP isn't going to get you there. If this was prior to 430HP, it wasn't getting you there.

Yes you have timeslips, but I also have inaccurate timeslips of my old 3000GT running in the 12's when it was stock. I know for a fact, that it would never run that.

Rain dripping onto a turbo and dunking it into a river are 2 different things, my friend.
